Hoodoo Gurus

-- Not to be confused with the Spanish band The Gurus Hoodoo Gurus (sometimes just shortened to 'Gurus') are an Australian rock band which used influences from seventies power pop, bubblegum pop, Beatle-esque harmonies, psychedelia and grungy garage rock. They formed in Sydney in 1981. Dave Faulkner, Rod Radalj and James Baker were originally from Perth. Baker and Radalj were original members of The Scientists, Faulkner and Baker were also members of The Victims in 1977-79.

A band from Melbourne, Australia, playing a rock/gypsy/circus/caberet style (with lashings of folk/country) that might be likened to Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen crossed with Nick Cave, sprinkled with a bit of Paul Kelly and Marlene Dietrich.

Pete Murray

Pete Murray is an Australian singer-songwriter whose second album Feeler released on 21 July 2003 went to number one on the Australian charts on 29 March 2004 and has so far achieved six time platinum status. The third single "So Beautiful" has made the Australian top ten in the singles charts in 2004. Pete Murray was also nominated for two ARIA awards in 2003. In 2005 he released the album See The Sun with the lead track "Better Days", followed shortly after by "Class A" and most recently "Opportunity."

Kasey Chambers, born June 4, 1976 in Mount Gambier, Australia is Australia's most popular country music performer with three successive albums reaching #1 on the Australian album charts in 2002, 2004 and 2006, each achieving multi-platinum sales. The Presets

The Presets are Julian Hamilton (keyboard and vocals) and Kimberly Moyes (drums and keyboard). They are an electronic two piece from Sydney, Australia. The Presets have been one of the biggest indie bands for the past few years in Australia, touring with and supporting many well known bands such as Daft Punk, 2 Many DJ's and Ladytron. Their first LP Beams combines electro, rock, techno, pop and a handful of other genres together in a seamless manner.

An extraordinary songwriter and an exceptional guitarist, Frank Yamma also has an incredible voice, rich, deep and resonant. When Frank sings about standing on a sand dune watching over the landscape, it is if you are standing with him. When he sings about the plight of Aboriginal children born into a world of chaos and alcohol, Frank wrenches the heart.
