The Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins are an alternative rock band, formed in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in 1988. Billy Corgan and James Iha met in a record store, and began performing in local nightclubs with their bassist, D'Arcy Wretzky, using a drum machine. Playing with a drum machine frustrated both the band and their audience, and so Chicago jazz drummer Jimmy Chamberlin was hired soon afterwards. Period.") is an American satirical rock duo formed by musicians and actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black in Los Angeles, California in 1994. A State of Flux is a band determined to push the boundaries of modern alternative rock. 1.) Closure was an emo band from Oceanside, New York, who was around in the 90’s. They played a style of frantic emo with driving guitars and somewhat high-speed drumwork, topped off with desperate screamed vocals.
They released a split 7” with Breakwater, a full length LP and contributed a track to the compilation “I Can’t Live Without It.” All of their releases were on Mountain Records, out of Huntington, New York.

"Jet" is the name used by five groups. Jet (1) is a rock band from Melbourne, Australia, whose debut album Get Born, released in 2003, has so far sold over 1 million copies throughout the world.
The band claims to draw influence from groups such as The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, The Kinks, AC/DC, Oasis and The Rolling Stones.
Their tunes Are You Gonna Be My Girl and Cold Hard Bitch became worldwide hits; the former became popular largely due to featuring in an ad for the Apple iPod. The track Look What You've Done was used in the film A Lot Like Love.

Regular John guitarist Brock Tengstrom remembers one family gathering where he was primed to meet his cousin’s boyfriend: “He’s in a band,” Tengstrom’s folks told him. Turns out the weird skinny guy with big sunglasses and black fingernails was Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson, pre-Guide to Better Living. “He gave me a copy of that Green EP,” recalls Tengstrom, “and I taught him how to play a few Nirvana songs.”
