Front End Loader

Based in Sydney, Australia, Front End Loader are self-described as "Australia's least popular, relatively well known band". Formed in 1991 FEL have always been a difficult band to categorize. Undeniably a hard rock band, they have avoided the traditional tattoos and hair of hard rock and as musicians, they tend closer to cock or math rock without the earnestness. Front End Loader have been supported by the likes of Regurgitator, The Superjesus and Shihad plus many others. They have a reputation for ferocious live performances and not holding their collective tongue.

Jess Locke

Jess’ growing live set brims with subtle, resilient melodies, and savvy, considered lyrics. They not only drive, but are also suggested by, the vocal melodies. Her songs are crafted like poems, little machines of intelligence, love, melancholy desire and concision. While drawing on influences from well-known artists like Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith and Cat Power, Jess has developed her own assured and confident voice that takes these artists’ work as a point of departure rather than an ideal to be achieved. She’s very much her own artist.

Kram

Mark Maher (aka Kram) is the drummer/singer of Australian band Spiderbait. He also appeared at the 2004 benefit concert for the South-East Asian tsunami, Wave Aid, as a member of supergroup The Wrights who performed Stevie Wright's 3 part classic, "Evie". When it came time to cut a solo album, Spiderbait’s co-vocalist and percussive lynchpin Kram had a deceptively simple philosophy. “I wanted it to be like a radio station where all the songs sound like different bands but its all played by one person,” he explains.
