Main target at that time was playing Gore/Grind/Death in its rawest form ala good old (!) Carcass, Pungent Stench, etc. But lyrically it was totally replaced after the release of the 2nd 7”ep “Slaves to abysmal perversity” by the nowadays well-known dirty humour.. DEAD split up on 22nd May 1998 - on their last gig at the “FTC II” – Festival.
Cunt Butcher is a grindcore band, formed in 2004 in Sydney, Australia but now based in Brisbane. Originally a solo project for Carcass Butcher, the band has been through several lineup changes and cofigurations. For almost two years Carcass and second bass player Cadbury Redbeard, together with a drum machine, terrorised the Sydney live music scene with raw meat, islamic blowup dolls, pigs, nudity, blood (both human and animal) and assorted other fluids, as well as playing some ultra-politically correct grindcore in between.

Cock And Ball Torture was formed by three ex-members of Carnal Tomb. The band's style may be compared with their countrymen Gut, the German legend of grindcore, as it is mid-tempo grindcore with pitch-shifted vocals and lyrics based on porno. Their style has slowly changed since the beginning, through porngrind to brutal death metal. CBT appeared as a trio in early 1997 and after six months of rehearsals visited a local studio to record a promo tape "Cocktales" which appeared in several underground zines, getting very good reviews.
Rolo Tomassi are a experimental metal band from Sheffield, England. Their name is taken from the fictional character Rollo Tomasi in the film LA Confidential. The band formed in 2005 and set their local scene alight by playing a synth driven technical mix of styles and genres difficult to define in a single word. The band self-released their first demo shortly after forming. Shortly after the band pursued a tape release via danger!laser!phaser!razor! where only 200 copies were made.

Captain Cleanoff is a complete grind holocaust. The band formed in the South Australian town of Mt Gambier in 1996 with Christian Dicer on drums before moving to Adelaide sometime afterward. Heath Twigden replaced Dicer in 1997. When early bassist Michael Slottagraf left the band, Johnson played bass until White joined the fold. Murray replaced Twigden in 2001. Captain Cleanoff played at Metal for the Brain in 2003.
Akaname is an instrumental post-metal and experimental quartet based in Melbourne, Australia. The band has undergone many transformations in the time since we made the move to Australia.
