aheadphonehome is a small collective (sometimes of 1) based in Brisbane Australia. Founded by noise maker/producer Phil Laidlaw in 2006, aheadphonehome draws on eclectic loves of experimental, guitar based, electronica, ambient, DIY, folk, psychadelic and pop traditions to create layed, evolving songs. The debut album "in the static" was released in late 2007.

Brisbane's Arrows formed in 2006 out of a common love of No Idea + Crank records bands often described by the three-letter "E" curse word. But simply put, these are four friends playing music and having a blast along the way. In amongst playing shows, the band swiftly recorded and self released their ‘Don’t Write Poetry’ CDep and toured the Australian east-coast.

65daysofstatic began in Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2001 as Iain Armstrong, Paul Wolinski and Joe Shrewsbury. Contrary to popular belief, they did not originally form to try to write music to fit the unreleased and little known John Carpenter film, 'Stealth Bomber' (starring Kurt Russell). Instead, they took their name from the 1954 CIA-backed coup d'etat in Guatemala. There, the CIA disabled Guatemalan communication systems while spreading propaganda, leading to the overthrow of the government.

Grails

Grails is an American <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/instrumental" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">instrumental</a> rock band from Portland, Oregon. Initially going by the name "Laurel Canyon", guitarist Alex Hall, drummer Emil Amos (also of 'Holy Sons') and second guitarist Paul Spitz garnered positive reactions following their first show, played on a whim. Portland musicians Timothy Horner (violin) and Bill Slater (piano/bass) later joined the group to record their first EP.

Russian Circles is a three piece instrumental post-rock/post-metal band from Chicago. The band plays epic, sprawling music which runs the gamut of heavy discordant metal to soft delicate passages. They are also known for their energetic live shows, which include tours with Tool, Red Sparowes, Minus the Bear and Daughters, as well as appearances at the 2006, 2007 & 2008 SXSW festivals. The band, which hails from Denmark, plays a rather intense, yet fragile type of distortion-filled noise rock. We All Repeat the Past is the follow up to 2002’s noise rock epic I Believe In You, and with this latest release Mob returns with walls of blistering distortion, moody-noise-ridden outbursts, crashing drums, and dark but peaceful interludes, like a butterfly crushed by a ten ton truck. This latest offering also sees the band progressing into slightly more aggressive and bleak areas.
