Pelican

Formed by previous members of the band Tusk, the instrumental post-metal outfit Pelican formed in Chicago in 2001, by guitarists Trevor de Brauw and Laurent Lebec with sibling rhythm section Larry Herweg and Bryan Herweg (drums and bass, respectively). Owing a great debt to the pioneering band Neurosis, and often compared to Boston's Isis and Sweden's Cult of Luna, Pelican were initially signed to Hydra Head Records (whose founder, Aaron Turner, was a member of Isis).

James Walker

There are two artists with this name: James Walker is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Walker has numerous band appearances to his credit. His current solo project is also his first. James Walker (other names include "Jay-Jay", "Strawberry Blonde Gangster" and "Go away") is also an upcoming and promising solo artist who's track record includes allegedly playing keyboard with led zeppelin and the white stripes. This has never been proved as his image cannot be captured on camera and his existence is still only myth.

Catacombs

Catacombs comes from USA and plays very slow funeral doom metal. Xathagorra Mlandroth plays on all the instruments as well as vocals. Elder

There are several artists with the name Elder: 1) Elder is 3 piece stoner doom band from Boston. They have a self-titled full-length album released in 2008, a second full-length album titled "Dead Roots Stirring", released 2011, both on MeteorCity records, and a split CD with Hong Kong's Queen Elephantine on Concrete Lo-Fi Records. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/beholdtheelder" rel="nofollow">www.myspace.com/beholdtheelder</a> 2) Elder is a Screamo band from Philadelphia who combine soft/hard and quiet/loud dynamics to build epic Screamo songs. Acid King

Acid King is a stoner doom band that was formed 1993 in San Francisco, California, USA. Acid King's signature is distortion, tight guitar-bass riff attacks and a Marshall-stacked, bloated low rear end. Ampeg bass amps and Osbourne's Ludwig drum kit supplemented the heaviness accordingly. Heavy but spacey. Lori's searing guitar leads contrasted nicely with her nefarious vocal stylings. People appreciated something different and distinctive, enthusiastically supporting Acid King's opening slots for the likes of The Obsessed, Sleep and Hawkwind.

Ahab

There are at least five artists named Ahab: 1) is a German funeral doom metal band, formed by members of Midnattsol and Endzeit. The classic novel "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville served as a source of inspiration for their music. They released an EP named The Oath in 2005 and a full-length album named The Call of the Wretched Sea in 2006. On the artwork of the album, the style of the music is described as "Nautik Funeral Doom". Their new album The Divinity of Oceans was released in 2009. 2) is a German Noise-Rock Band featuring members of Ulme.

Okera

http://www.myspace.com/okerametal Okera are a 4-piece Melodic Death / Doom band from Melbourne, Australia. They were founded by Jayme in the later months of 2006, purely as a studio side-project. As time went on, the project became more serious, and in mid 2008, the line-up as it is today was completed. They've been playing gigs around Melbourne since mid 2009, and have shared the stage with other local talents Be'lakor, Arbrynth, Rainshadow and Wood of Suicides. Their music is melodic death / doom metal rooted in progressive rock, with melancholic overtones; and dark, subtle nuances.

Rise of Avernus

RISE OF AVERNUS are a doom metal five piece from Sydney, Australia. The brainchild of guitarist / vocalist Ben Vanvollenhoven (Ex-STODOWA) and vocalist / keyboardist, Catherine Guirguis (KATABASIS, Ex-BLACK HORIZON), the music is based around the incongruent, yet complimentary combination of Guirguis’ classically inspired piano melodies and Vanvollenhoven’s monolithic riffs.
