One day, after his star sign promised a ‘dynamic’ afternoon, Ambrose Nock (guitar) decided it was the right time to form a band known as Apricot Rail. He was soon joined by Jack Quirk (guitar), Matthew Saville (drums) and Daniel Burt (bass). The premise of the band was simple: music based on unique guitar tunings, the use of natural harmonics, and very open ideas about other instruments, electronica and song structure.

Cheer Advisory Council formed in Adelaide, Australia in late 2008. At its biggest, the Council now boasts seven members, even reclaiming the bassoon as the rock instrument it always knew it could be. Seaworthy, a three piece collectivefrom Sydney, Australia that primarily revolves around core member Cameron Webb as well as Sam Shinazzi and Greg Bird, was formed in early 2000 to explore melodic and experimental approaches to the construction (and unravelling) of minimalist sound scapes from looped guitar, warm drones, piano, electronics and field recordings. The compositions often blur the lines of conventional categorisation with elements traditionally considered part of “indie” or “post” rock blended with processed musical and field recordings usually associated with electronic artists.

The Paper And The Plane are a band from Brisbane, Australia. The band is the result of (now defunct) post hardcore band Asleep at the Scene, merging with solo artist Dan van Zuthpen of chalkandcheese - formerly Nice Guys Finish - in 2006. The name of the group originated from a line in the song ‘A Letter’ by emo/indie band Mineral. Their sound is quite liberally referred to as ‘post-everything’ due to its distinctively hybrid style and vast influences such as Moneen, Mono and Planes Mistaken for Stars.

In the years that followed, they played other Australian cities, and toured relentlessly overseas. Now since the three live apart from each other in Paris, Melbourne, and New York, they only occasionally regroup to record and tour.
