Severed Heads

An Australian electronic group formed in Sydney, Australia in 1979, Severed Heads have released albums ranging from <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/experimental" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">experimental</a> <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/industrial%20noise" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">industrial noise</a> to <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/synthpop" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">synthpop</a> influenced <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/dance" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">dance</a> music. The original members were Richard Fielding and Andrew Wright, and were soon joined by Tom Ellard. This later changed to Garry Bradbury, Paul Deering, and Tom Ellard; Ellard has been the only one to remain throughout the group's career, with changing lineups throughout its two and a half decades of existence, later working mainly with Stephen Jones.

Xiu Xiu

Xiu Xiu is an experimental band originally from San Jose, California and currently based in Durham, NC and Brooklyn. The band is named after the main character of the 1998 Chinese film "Tian yu" (a.k.a. "Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl") Xiu Xiu was first formed in 2000 and is the main project of singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart, who records with friends on his home computer. Stewart's cousin, Caralee McElroy joined the band in 2003 and was the only other permanent member of the band until her departure in early 2009.

Alps plays a mixture of pop and experimental music, using electronic, electric and acoustic instruments, drawing inspiration from Australia and New Zealand's rich history of pop, folk and noise via labels like M Squared, Xpressway, Terse Tapes, Flying Nun, Spanish Magic.

Her experimental music blends densely layered electronic sounds with various acoustic instruments and her angelic voice. She is often compared with artists like Fever Ray, Björk, Bat For Lashes and Florence + The Machine. The name "Glasser" was inspired by "a midnight vision of a figure hovering over water".
