Earthless is the brainchild of Mario Rubalcaba, Mike Eginton and Isaiah Mitchell. Rubalcaba, a prolific drummer, has worn the alias of Ruby Mars during his stint with Rocket from the Crypt, went on to bang away for the Hot Snakes, was the drummer for hardcore art-punks Clikatat Ikatowi and previously was in the Black Heart Procession… and prior to that? Mario was a member of Tony Alva’s Alva Team skateboarding crew.
The Atomic Bitchwax are a rock band formed in a basement during the mid 1990s by then 25 year olds Chris Kosnik of Atlantic Records "Godspeed" and Ed Mundell of A&M Records "Monster Magnet" both from Long Branch, New Jersey. The band's first two albums, I and II, had a heavy psychedelic sound with roughly half of their songs containing only minimal vocals and the rest were instrumental. There is more than one artist with this name: 1) ZEUS was founded in 2003 by singer/actor/presenter/comedian Jeroen van Koningsbrugge, drummer Paul Jansen and guitarist Roy Jansen. Soon after, bass player Bob Gerritsen completed the band. The objective was clear and simple: to make heavy, groovy rock music the way it was meant since 1969. Influenced by Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Karma to Burn, Transport League, Goatsnake and the wave of nineties grunge and stoner, ZEUS developed their sound. Based in Byron Bay, on the east coast of Australia, Fort has been around since early 2000. With five releases under their studded belt and a history of rocking venues throughout the country, Fort has toured with the likes of Clutch, FuManchu, Nebula, Brant Bjork and the Bro's, the Datsuns and the Black Keys to name a few. Hytest - finest stoner punk from Wollongong, Australia (Michael Curley - guitar, Luke Armstrong - bass, Adam Rogan/Neil Matthews - drums) In 2004 they recorded and independently released their first self titled EP and after placing highly in Triple Js Unearthed competition, received light airplay for “The Party song” and “Dirty old men(need lovin' too)” on local and international radio. A second EP was soon to follow.
Tumbleweed is firstly a highly influential Australian rock band from the 90's, a country rock band from Norway and a bonecrushing instro/surf band from Sweden. Tumbleweed (Australia) filled the stoner-rock void in Australia during the heavy grunge years of the 1990s. As the opening band for Nirvana on their 1992 tour of Australia, Tumbleweed was able to reach out into the mainstream with their crunchy-psychedelica and the subtle vocal stylings of singer Richie Lewis.
Karma to Burn is an American instrumental stoner rock band. The band was formed in 1994, in Hicksville, West Virginia (actually Morgantown, West Virginia, though this was a running joke also reflected in bios of the band on other Web sites). The band is currently located in Los Angeles. Their instrumental album Almost Heathen is widely regarded as on par Kyuss' Welcome To Sky Valley and Monster Magnet's Spine of God, as one of the defining albums of the stoner rock genre, although the band themselves referred to their style as malternative.
