Lowrider

There are three bands with the name Lowrider. 1) Lowrider is a swedish stoner rock band, formed in the mid-1990s by bassist/singer Peder Bergstrand and lead guitarist/singer Ole Hellquist, along with guitarist Niclas Stalfors and drummer Andreas Eriksson. Lowrider released the Nebula/Lowrider Double EP in 1999 together with ambassadors of psychedelic stoner rock, Nebula, who had just come into existence after their members departed from Fu Manchu.

Kyuss

For 2011 touring line-up, see <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Kyuss+Lives!" class="bbcode_artist">Kyuss Lives!</a>. Kyuss (pronounced /ˈkaɪ.əs/ KYE-əs) is the corner stone of what is known as <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/stoner%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">stoner rock</a> or <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/desert%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">desert rock</a>. Although deriving influence from 70s <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/hard%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">hard rock</a>, Kyuss churned out a unique sound. This was primarily because guitarist <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Josh+Homme" class="bbcode_artist">Josh Homme</a> often tuned to a low C, a major third below standard pitch, but also singer <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/John+Garcia" class="bbcode_artist">John Garcia</a>'s paint stripping vocals. The band was originally formed in 1989 in Palm Desert, California under the name "Sons of Kyuss". They took the name from a monster in Dungeons and Dragons.

Atomic Bitchwax

The Atomic Bitchwax are a rock band formed in a basement during the mid 1990s by then 25 year olds Chris Kosnik of Atlantic Records "Godspeed" and Ed Mundell of A&M Records "Monster Magnet" both from Long Branch, New Jersey. The band's first two albums, I and II, had a heavy psychedelic sound with roughly half of their songs containing only minimal vocals and the rest were instrumental. As the band's sound has progressed over the last 10+ years...
