The Atomic Bitchwax

New Jersey's Chris Kosnik, Finn Ryan, and Bob Pantella first started plotting their musical careers back in the mid 90s influenced by 70s rock and progressive groups ranging from Black Sabbath to Parliament Funkadelic. Simultaneously all three members where already playing for major labels in separate bands: Godspeed (Atlantic), Monster Magnet (A&M) and Core (Atlantic). The Atomic Bitchwax slowly evolved for 15 years as a players band with the enduring vision to "play what you want".

Space Bong

"We're 6 dudes playing music that we dig. DOOM, grind, crust, STONER, hardcore, punk. We dig it. We play it. Narrow minded, $$$ driven, elite scene fucks can die. We've played with bands such as Pisschrist, 731, Cut Sick, Beyond Terror Beyond Grace, Fattura Della Morte, Pack (Switzerland), Regulations (Sweden), Born/Dead (USA), Kyklooppien Sukupuuto (Finland) and The Wrong Men (New Zealand). - Taken from their myspace. http://www.myspace.com/spacebong

Artist Type:

Acid King

Acid King is a stoner doom band that was formed 1993 in San Francisco, California, USA. Acid King's signature is distortion, tight guitar-bass riff attacks and a Marshall-stacked, bloated low rear end. Ampeg bass amps and Osbourne's Ludwig drum kit supplemented the heaviness accordingly. Heavy but spacey. Lori's searing guitar leads contrasted nicely with her nefarious vocal stylings. People appreciated something different and distinctive, enthusiastically supporting Acid King's opening slots for the likes of The Obsessed, Sleep and Hawkwind.

The band was formed in 1994, in Hicksville, West Virginia (actually Morgantown, West Virginia, though this was a running joke also reflected in bios of the band on other Web sites). The band is currently located in Los Angeles. Their instrumental album Almost Heathen is widely regarded as on par Kyuss' Welcome To Sky Valley and Monster Magnet's Spine of God, as one of the defining albums of the stoner rock genre, although the band themselves referred to their style as malternative.

Kyuss

For 2011 touring line-up, see <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Kyuss+Lives!" class="bbcode_artist">Kyuss Lives!</a>. Kyuss (pronounced /ˈkaɪ.əs/ KYE-əs) is the corner stone of what is known as <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/stoner%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">stoner rock</a> or <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/desert%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">desert rock</a>. Although deriving influence from 70s <a href="http://www.last.fm/tag/hard%20rock" class="bbcode_tag" rel="tag">hard rock</a>, Kyuss churned out a unique sound. This was primarily because guitarist <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Josh+Homme" class="bbcode_artist">Josh Homme</a> often tuned to a low C, a major third below standard pitch, but also singer <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/John+Garcia" class="bbcode_artist">John Garcia</a>'s paint stripping vocals. The band was originally formed in 1989 in Palm Desert, California under the name "Sons of Kyuss". They took the name from a monster in Dungeons and Dragons.
