Mark Seymour is an Australian musician and singer best known for his work as the frontman and songwriter of rock band Hunters & Collectors. In 1997, whilst still officially part of Hunters & Collectors he released his debut solo album King Without a Clue, which earned him a nomination in the ARIA Awards for Best Male Artist (as well as Best Debut Single with Last Ditch Cabaret). In 1998, Hunters & Collectors officially split up.
Imogen Heap (born December 9, 1977) is a British singer-songwriter / electronica artist from Romford, Essex, England. She grew up playing music from an early age, and by her eleventh birthday she was writing her own songs. From the age of 15, she studied at the BRIT School Of Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon, South London, recording three tracks for the school's annual CD between 1994 and 1995, "Aliens" being the title track of the latter.
Garrett Dutton III (born October 3, 1972), better known as G. Love, is the front man for the band, G. Love & Special Sauce. Dutton, born in Philadelphia, began playing guitar at age 8. He wrote his first song by the time he was in the 9th grade and began playing harmonica in a wire rack. Dutton credits Bob Dylan and John Hammond Jr., as well as then-contemporary "old school" hip-hop sounds of Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys, and Philadelphia's own Schooly D as influences.
Anika Moa (born 21st May 1980) is a singer-songwriter from Christchurch, New Zealand. While still at school in Christchurch, Moa entered the 'Smokefree Rockquest'.
She received a record deal with Warner Music in New Zealand and Atlantic Records in New York. The record company had big commercialized plans for her - which conflicted with her brash down-to-earth personality. Overall Moa did not enjoy her time in America and returned to base herself in New Zealand. Her first album was released in 2001.
1) Bahamas is Afie Jurvanen, and for the last many years he's been playing other people's music-- PasoMino, Great Lake Swimmers, The Stills, Howie Beck, Amy Millan, Jason Collett, Hayden and zeus. He's spent the last few years playing piano and guitar with Feist. He walks with a strange and haunted gait, due to a horrible knee injury suffered while on tour, and it's rumored that this might be what led to the appalling "shorts on stage" incident. No photos of the crime have surfaced and the indie rock police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Isobel Campbell is the former cellist and backup vocalist for Belle & Sebastian, as well as leader of The Gentle Waves. Mark Lanegan used to be the frontman of the Seattle grunge band The Screaming Trees, has recently played with Queens of the Stone Age, and formed together with Greg Dulli The Gutter Twins. Lanegan has also been releasing solo albums since 1990. Together, Campbell and Lanegan form a unique combination of gruff vocals and dulcet voices.
Court Yard Hounds are an adult alternative and AAA music duo, currently comprised of Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, with Robison on lead vocals. The members are sisters and are also founding members of Dixie Chicks. Dixie Chicks are currently on hiatus. Jonah Matranga is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has released a variety of solo material under both his own name and Onelinedrawing, and has previously been part of the bands Far, New End Original (an anagram of “onelinedrawing”) and Gratitude. Jonah Matranga grew up in and around Boston, Massachusetts. He left in 1987 to attend Pitzer College in Claremont, California, where he majored in English. After College, Jonah moved to Sacramento, where he lived for 8 years. Jonah married in April 1994, and his daughter was born that August.
