We Are The Ocean

We Are The Ocean is an English post-hardcore band from Loughton, Essex. The band formed in 2007 and have since toured with such bands as The Used, Lostprophets, Underoath, Thrice, Funeral for a Friend, Fightstar and You Me At Six. The band blend many different styles but most recently have drifted away from post-hardcore towards a softer rock sound, with Dan's screams replaced with a more gravelly singing style and more emphasis placed on choruses and hooks.

The Brute Chorus

The Brute Chorus have been combining garage, blues and folk music with a scatology of Biblical stories, nursery rhymes and fairy tales since 2008. Their enormously accessible sound has managed to escape any generalised genre pigeon-holing, instead they’ve been carving out their own genuine, word-of-mouth buzz from their exciting live shows. They beegn taking it to the people with a monthly residency at Camden’s infamous Hawley Arms pub.

The xx

The xx are a trio formed in 2005 at London, England. The band members are Romy Madley Croft (vocals, lead guitar), Oliver Sim (vocals, bass guitar), and Jamie Smith (Jamie xx) (beats, MPC sampler). Second guitarist and keyboardist Baria Qureshi is no longer a member of the group. Bonding over a shared love of dark, emotive 80s guitar sounds and the high-end sheen of American R&B, The xx’s unique sound befits a band whose wide range of influences combine beautiful, hushed vocal duets and a brilliantly inventive use of samples and low-end frequencies to produce stark, sweet, melancholic pop.

The Charlatans

There are two bands with the name The Charlatans.
1960s: A US psychedelic rock band from San Francisco.
1990s-present: A UK indie rock band formed in Birmingham and based in Northwich, Cheshire. - - - - - The Charlatans (known as Charlatans UK in the USA to avoid confusion with the 1960's group of the same name) were originally formed in Birmingham, England by bassist Martin Blunt, who recruited fellow West Midlanders; Rob Collins (keyboards), Jon Brookes (drums), John Baker (also known as Day) (guitar) plus vocalist Baz Ketley.

Pulp

Pulp is an alternative rock band which formed in 1978 in Sheffield, England. The band's best known and most stable lineup consists of Jarvis Cocker (vocals), Russell Senior (guitar, violin), Mark Webber (guitar), Candida Doyle (keyboards), Steve Mackey (bass) and Nick Banks (drums). Although many members have had a long tenure with the band, the only constant member has been Cocker. In 2011, it was announced on Pulp's official website that the band's classic lineup would reunite and perform at several festivals, including Isle of Wight, that year.

Philip Selway

Philip James Selway (born 23 May 1967) is an English musician and songwriter, best known as the drummer of English alternative rock group Radiohead. He also drums and provides backing vocals, along with occasional guitar and lead vocals, for 7 Worlds Collide. Selway is known for his precision and proficiency in various styles and unusual time signatures, being named the 26th greatest drummer of all time by Gigwise in 2008. He has worked with Samaritans since 1991. Selway released his debut solo album, Familial, on 30 August 2010.

One Direction

One Direction is a five-member boy band made up of Liam Payne (born 29 August 1993) from Wolverhampton, Louis Tomlinson (born 24 December 1991) from Doncaster, Niall Horan (born 13th September 1993) from Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland, Harry Styles, (born 1 February 1994) from Holmes Chapel, Cheshire and Zayn Malik, (born 12 January 1993) from East Bowling, Bradford. They applied as solo candidates on the 2010 edition of the X Factor, but the judges, after a suggestion by Simon Cowell, put them in a band in London, UK; therefore qualifying for the Groups category.
