Peter Hook

Peter "Hooky" Hook (born February 13, 1956 in Salford, Lancashire) was the bass player for the English Post-Punk band Joy Division, and the techno/rock band New Order. Hook was a co-founder of Joy Division along with Bernard Sumner in the mid-70's. Together, they recruited vocalist Ian Curtis and drummer Stephen Morris to complete the quartet. The band reformed as New Order following Curtis' suicide.

Seth Lakeman

Seth Lakeman, the West Country born singer and songwriter credited with bringing folk music to a whole new audience since his 2005 Mercury nominated album, 'Kitty Jay', released his eagerly anticipated 4th album, ‘Poor Man's Heaven’, on June 30th 2008. There are two bands under the same name:
1) A British indie rock band
2) An American emo band active in the early 90's 1) Gomez are an English indie rock band. Their first album, Bring It On, won the Mercury Music Prize in 1998. The genesis of Gomez was the meeting of four friends from Southport. Guitarist and vocalist Ian Ball and drummer Olly Peacock had previously played together in a local heavy metal band called Severed.

Steve Ignorant

Steve Ignorant is a singer and artist. He co-founded the anarchist punk rock band Crass with Penny Rimbaud in 1977, and has worked with other groups including Conflict, Schwartzeneggar (sic), The Stratford Mercenaries and Current 93 (under the name Stephen Intelligent) as well as being an occasional solo performer. He is also a sculptor, and has worked as a traditional Punch and Judy performer using the name Professor Ignorant. In recent years he has developed an interest in the history of traditional east London music hall performance.

Fear Like Us

Spawning from the cesspools of Newcastle, Fear Like Us was originally formed as a two-piece back in 04. They recorded a demo back then, and soon Jamie Hay and Kim Wall were joined by Babs on bass. A demo came out in 05, a split with another Newcastle band Scarlet Fever. With both demos unavailable now, it's hard to get your hands on some of these old recordings. Towards the end of 2006, Joel joined the band on drums, which added a more fuller sound for an ever-increasing in popularity band.

Slow Club

Slow Club are Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor from Sheffield, United Kingdom. They sing using quirky lyrics, a variety of percussion instruments and great vocal interplay. They are currently releasing singles on Moshi Moshi Records and have been on nationwide tours with bands such as Fionn Regan, Noisettes, Hot Club de Paris, Tilly and the Wall, Jamie T and Jeremy Warmsley. The pair have released a series of EPs: Because We're Dead, Me And You, Let's Fall Back in Love, Christmas TV and It Doesn't Have To Be Beautiful. Their debut album, Yeah So, was released on 7 July 2009.

Elephant

Elephant is a band from London, made up of Amelia Rivas (vocals, keyboards) and Christian Pinchbeck (guitars, computers). Elephant (from Pittsburgh) now has a full length available though iTunes entitled "Identities" Elephant is a Pittsburgh based band featuring members of Wings of Azrael. They currently have a ep and are in the process of recording a full length due sometime in 2010. The band runs a last.fm page under the name Elephant (PA) due to the other bands named "elephant".

Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys are an alternative rock band formed in Sheffield, England, United Kingdom in 2002 after meeting at Stocksbridge High School. The band consists of Alex Turner (vocals, guitar), Jamie 'Cookie' Cook (guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass) and Matt Helders (drums, vocals). Founding bassist Andy Nicholson left in 2006. Each of the band's first five singles I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, When the Sun Goes Down, Leave Before the Lights Come On...

3. A rock band from Devon, England 1) A three-piece London indie band formed from the ashes of Fear of Flying in late 2007. The line-up consists of singer/guitarist Harry McVeigh, bassist/lyricist Charles Cave and drummer Jack Brown. Unfinished Business (released April 29th 2007) was their first single, released on Jack Brown's label Chess Club Records. This single was released on a vinyl 7" format only and was limited to 500 copies.

The Brute Chorus

The Brute Chorus have been combining garage, blues and folk music with a scatology of Biblical stories, nursery rhymes and fairy tales since 2008. Their enormously accessible sound has managed to escape any generalised genre pigeon-holing, instead they’ve been carving out their own genuine, word-of-mouth buzz from their exciting live shows. They beegn taking it to the people with a monthly residency at Camden’s infamous Hawley Arms pub.
