Shapeshifter

Jakob

Jakob is a New Zealand post-rock band, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The band consists of guitarist Jeff Boyle; bassist Maurice Beckett; and drummer Jason Johnston. They have been compared to such bands as Mogwai, Sonic Youth, and HDU, though they largely eschew any vocals or samples in their songs. The band formed in July 1998, and began by opening for New Zealand bands Salmonella Dub and Pitch Black at the local pub O'Flaherty's. They toured extensively throughout 1999, releasing that same year a self-titled EP recorded with David Holmes at Napier's Venn Production Studios.

Disasteradio

NEW ALBUM "Charisma" - free / pay-as-you-like http://disasteradio.bandcamp.com ! Luke Rowell, aka Disasteradio, is an underground music legend in New Zealand. He began writing 80s-inspired synth pop a decade ago and has released eight albums, from a hand-packaged cassette, a song on Atari cartridge and most recently his latest online full-length album 'Charisma'. Leading critical NZ music magazine Real Groove ranked 'Visions' the best NZ album of the year in 2007. The follow-up - 2010's 'Charisma' was released as mp3-only, free / pay-as-you-like in October 2010.

The Dead C

The Dead C are a New Zealand based trio made up of members Bruce Russell, Michael Morley and Robbie Yeats. Most often, Russell plays electric guitar, Morley sings and plays electric guitar, or laptop in more recent years, and Yeats plays drums. Formed in Dunedin in 1986, the group is known for its noisy guitar soundscapes and improvisational take on rock music. They became known internationally through their releases on the Philadelphia record label Siltbreeze, especially for the 1992 album Harsh 70s Reality.

Creeping

Creeping is a Stoner/Black Metal band from New Zealand. Featuring members of Stoner outfit The House of Capricorn, Creeping play black metal infused with wicked groove and rock elements similar to bands like Craft and Darkthrone meets Kyuss + a lot of drugs! Lyrical themes involve grimness and darkness. 2007 they released their debut album on Australian label Asphyxiate Recordings titled "Funeral Crawl". MEMBERS:

Atmospheric, unorthodox death metal from Auckland, New Zealand. Formed in 2000. 2008 / 2009 - Everything is Fire
In 2008 Ulcerate the band's line-up changed considerably - after much consideration the decision was made to opt for a return to the lower pitched vocals utilised during the band's demo period, and so bassist Paul Kelland stepped up to take over the vocal duty from Ben Read. A new second guitarist Oliver Goater was found to replace Michael Rothwell after a more-than-amicable split. With a new, streamlined line-up, the band prepared for album no.2 ...

Alex The Kid

Alex date: 2077 A futuristic world; where humans colinise the moon and spend their summer vacations future boarding on near by ice planets. Their children’s best friend is an artificial robot named Omnibot 2000, while daily meals come from a thin toothpaste like tube.
Humankind is destined to fall into the same darkness that has befallen their ancestors before them. Having dealt with all human bigotry and discrimination (even after the first wave of phy-borns), humanity is now stricken with a new challenge.

SIX60

Bonding over a shared love of NZ music and passion for making their own, Six60 formed after meeting at a Kora concert in 2006. Three members flatted together as Otago Uni students, spending countless hours in their recording studio (Eli's room) at number 660 on notorious Castle St.
