The Bikini Beach Band

http://www.bikinibeach.co.uk/ The True Story of The Bikini Beach Band begins with one man - Jesus C. Escovedo - guitarist, revolutionary, ladies' man and 1956 All-Mexico Surfing Champion. Forced by his political beliefs to flee from his homeland, he escaped by stowing away on a cruise liner with only a guitar, a Hawaiian shirt and an autographed photo of Duane Eddy. He landed in Southampton, convinced Britain would welcome his music with open arms. Sadly, this was not to be.

The Leap Year are a band from Perth, Western Australia. They formed in 2006 and comprise of Rob Schifferli (Guitar/vocals), Martin Allcock (Guitar/vocals), Paul Haimes (Bass/vocals) and Chris Reimer (Drums). The Leap Year's debut album "With a Little Push, a Pattern Appears" was released on November 5th through Hobbledehoy Records. It was recorded at Bergerk Recording Studios by Al Smith, mixed by Simon Struthers (Adam Said Galore/Mukaizake/Umpire) and mastered by Bob Weston (Shellac/Mission of Burma) at Chicago Mastering Service.

Morgan Lewis, better known in the hip-hop world as Morganics, is an MC, Beatboxer, Bboy producer. He is also involved in hip hop theatre and teaching beat-boxing and MC'ing to community centres, jails, schools, theatre companies and remote Aboriginal communities. Known for the hit 'Down River' by the Wilcannia Mob featuring three young Aboriginal boys rapping to a beat-boxing soundtrack, Morganics continues to encourage others to use their own words, terms and language as he does to try to make hip hop our own.

Simon Breed

Simon Breed began The Birthmarks when, some time after the demise of his critically-acclaimed band Breed, he took himself to New York with an acoustic guitar and a cheap keyboard from Brixton Market, to test his mettle with solo gigs in the East Village. After going down a storm, he returned to London to play with the occasional assistance of talented multi-instrumentalist John Sullivan on keyboards.
