The Bushwackers

The Bushwackers (aka The Bushwackers Band & originally, The Original Bushwackers and Bullockies Bush Band), is a folk / country band, or 'bush band', which began at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia (1971), with Dave Isom (guitars), Jan 'Yarn' Wositzky (tea-chest bass) & Bert Kahanoff (mendoza). The founding three were joined by various players, including accordionist Mick Slocum, and fiddlers Tony Hunt and Dave Kidd, until 1974 when the band went full-time, and Kahanoff was replaced by largerphone player, Dobe Newton.

Jon Bailey aka MC Wrec is regarded as one of Britains most exciting artists and music entrepreneurs. Known as one of the hardest workers on the circuit, this versatile young grafter shot to fame in recent years after becoming the front man to the multi award winning live act London Elektricity and his work with accliamed eclectic acts The Nextmen, Stanton Warriors and Timo Maas. The Surrey born vocalist who spent time growing up in Berlin, London, Southampton and Brighton, discovered his love for music at a very young age.

Hound

There are two artists that go by the name Hound: 1) Hound is a folk/bluegrass collective from Bemidji, Minnesota. 2) Hound is a 4-piece garage rock band out of Toledo, Ohio and is featured on the “Nowhere At All” compilation. The band is on the Danger Limited Sound Recording label and will release their debut record in late 2011.

Sincerely, Grizzly

Not many people know this, but a friend of mine was in japan last year, possibly the year before, anyway, they were over there over valentines day and they were feeling very lonely and didn’t know who to write a valentines day card to, so they chose Grizzly, the character of Super Crunchy Fun Grizzly, who was the character of a Japanese cereal. Anyway he got a letter back the very next day, signed Sincerely, Grizzly.

Stickleback

The story behind the Stickleback project is one of shifting compromises. Songwriter Ronnie Duisters' musical carreer started out with playing the clarinet in the local orchestra, due to a shortage of available saxophones. Even though his dream had to take a detour, he tried to learn as much as possible and developed quite a taste for melody. Especially dramatic and emotional musical pieces had his preference.

Tinpan Orange have spent the past year making themselves at home in the live music venues and jazz clubs of Melbourne, sharing the stage with artists such as Renee Geyer, The Whitlams, Clare Bowditch, Deborah Conway, Pete Murray and Tim Rogers. Having enjoyed the success of their first independent album, Aroona Palace, Tinpan Orange are almost bursting at seams to lay down the next one, beginning recording in late October 2006. The evolution of the live Tinpan sound will be captured at its richest point yet.
