Melissa Etheridge

Melissa Etheridge (born May 29, 1961, in Leavenworth, Kansas) has produced eight albums since signing her first major recording contract in 1987. Three of them have gone multi-platinum: Melissa Etheridge (1988), Yes I Am (1993) and Your Little Secret (1996). Two others, Brave & Crazy (1989) and Never Enough (1992) went platinum, and Breakdown (1999) went gold. In 2007, her song "I Need to Wake Up" from the documentary An Inconvenient Truth took home an Academy Award for Best Song.

Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper (born Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper on June 22, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, United States), is a Grammy Award-winning singer (who possesses a four-octave vocal range) and Emmy Award-winning film, television and theatre actress. She was lead singer of the rockabilly band Blue Angel before her rise to fame as a solo singer. Her melodic voice and wild costumes have come to epitomize the 1980s and New Wave — the decade and genre in which she first came to fame.

Heart

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Heart got their start in 1963 in Seattle, Washington formed by bassist Steve Fossen and brothers Roger Fisher (guitar/mandolin) and Mike Fisher (producer and sound engineer). The group went by the names Army and White Heart before settling on just Heart in the early 1970s. Ann Wilson joined the group in 1970. Romance sprang up between her and Mike, and she came along when they moved to Vancouver to avoid the Vietnam draft some years later.

Aslan

There are three bands with the name Aslan. The first is Aslan, is a a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. Formed in the mid-late 80's. The band features Christy Dignam (Vocals), Joe Jewel (Guitar), Tony McGuinness (Bass), Billy McGuinness (Harmonica, Keyboards, Percussion, Guitar) and Alan Downey (drums). Over the course of their career Aslan have played many different styles of music, ranging from pop, acoustic rock, rock etc. The band are also known as one of the hardest working bands in Ireland, playing (generally) at least one gig a week.

Projected Twin

Shaun Holton isn’t your traditional artist. Essentially a one man band, the 24-year-old from Adelaide (South Australia) formed PROJECTED TWIN in late-2006. After spending his earlier years in bands, it became apparent his frustration in having to please the other members in the band stemmed his growth creatively as an artist. “I had got to a point where I felt like I wasn't really given a proper opportunity to create music without having to worry about 3-4 other people's opinions or artistic flare being trampled on,” said Shaun.

The Pretty Reckless

The Pretty Reckless is a New York based alternative rock band fronted by American actress and model Taylor Momsen. Other members include Ben Phillips, Mark Damon and Jamie Perkins. On December 30, 2009, the band released a promo song entitled Make Me Wanna Die which was later launched on the soundtrack to the 2010 film Kick-Ass. The first EP for their album was released on June 22, 2010 and the full record "Light Me Up" was released August 27, 2010 in the UK and on February 8, 2011 in the USA.

Consequently he boasts a conclusive knowledge of shopping-centre youth culture. Inside a poorly lit factory, behind walls of guitars, old paintings and broken amps I find drummer Billy Handley hanging out his washing and cleaning up dirty dishes which have been left on the sink against his wishes. He's not a happy camper as his sign above the sink clearly states "Wash up your own stuff morons!" You see...

Bill Bailey

Bill Bailey is a comedian/musician/actor from the UK. His live shows are a mixture of stand-up and original comic songs. He has four albums (two studio, two live) and four live DVDs. He plays Manny Bianco in the sitcom "Black Books" and was a permanent fixture of "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" on the BBC for 11 series' until October 2008.
