The Raveonettes

The Raveonettes are a rock and roll duo formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2001. Comprising Sune Rose Wagner (guitar, instruments, vocals) and Sharin Foo (guitar and vocals), their music is characterized by close two-part vocal harmony inspired by The Everly Brothers, coupled with hard-edged electric guitar overlaid with liberal doses of noise. The name, The Raveonettes, is a direct reference to The Ronettes, and Buddy Holly's song Rave On!.

Every so often over the past few years you’d hear a whisper about this new Brooklyn band featuring a couple of indie rock veterans. Supposedly they’d been practicing since 2006, but weren’t ready to play live yet. Then they finally did play and immediately a bootleg recording of that first show spread all over the web. In lieu of having anything recorded for people to hear, the band even put some of the songs on its MySpace page.

Teleprompter

Teleprompter are a band from Brisbane, Australia. Formed in 2006, the band has been gigging locally and nationally since 2008 and have gained a reputation for their energetic and eccentric live shows. Taking direction from the dancier side of post-punk, Teleprompter have grown into their own unique sound. Recently, they have recorded their debut EP with Yama Indra of Gloves/Damn Arms fame, which is set for release in late April (2011).

The Fauves

1) Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1988, after 20 years, The Fauves, continue to be one of Australia's most unique bands. Although sonically nondescript, Fauves' song are typically wry, ironic, hyper-literate, biopsies of the broadest range of topics. Comprised of four school friends: Andrew Dyer, Adam Newey, Andrew Cox and Phil Leonard, the Fauves emerged from one of Melbourne's grittier suburbs, Frankston only to find major label support early in their career.

Funeral Party

Funeral Party is a four-piece band that formed late one night in a park. Hardcore bands and metal bands dominated the local music scene at the time in Whittier, California, an East Los Angeles suburb comprised of mostly working-class enclaves. In the East Los Angeles neighborhoods adjacent to Whittier however, a post-punk dance-craze revival was emerging and Funeral Party began gigging every weekend. The band quickly developed a following and a D.I.Y.

Les Savy Fav is an indie rock band which formed in Providence, Rhode Island, United States in 1995, where the members were attending the Rhode Island School of Design. The band moved to Brooklyn, New York shortly after graduating. The Brute Chorus

The Brute Chorus have been combining garage, blues and folk music with a scatology of Biblical stories, nursery rhymes and fairy tales since 2008. Their enormously accessible sound has managed to escape any generalised genre pigeon-holing, instead they’ve been carving out their own genuine, word-of-mouth buzz from their exciting live shows. They beegn taking it to the people with a monthly residency at Camden’s infamous Hawley Arms pub.

Feedback Dancer are a four piece rock band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2009. They released their debut self-titled EP in early 2010. Liz Ghargori's "Whitney Houston" inspired voice soars above the twanging guitar, bouncing bass and thundering drums of Nyk Lee, Ben Harberts and Scott Hardman.

Rise Electric is a rock band from Toronto, Ontario. The lead singer, Lukas Rossi, born December 21, 1976, was a contestant on the popular show 'Rockstar Supernova' and is now the new lead singer of Supernova.
