Ciecmate & Newsense

In Melbourne sat a King with a large jaw at the helm of independent record label. In Canberra, a whimsical jester oversaw a paint emporium. It was the year two thousand and nine, and these two disparate souls saw fit to unleash a recorded missive that would not be thwarted by the tyranny of distance. Forging Broken Tooth Entertainment’s strengths in Melbourne, Ciecmate is the beat-breaking crate digger out to make figures.

Artist Type:

Lopaka

Lopaka is a super-groovy bunch of dudes from the ex-band, My Cat Drinks Tap Water, who wanted to make math music. Their original attempts at such were futile and full of short comings.
As such, the 3 young men attempting this feat parted ways briefly to each undergo their own spiritually revealing journey. On said journeys, the men discovered the root of their being and unlocked the infinite potential of their creativity and understanding of their surroundings.

Sugar Army

Trying to describe Sugar Army is both joyfully easy and nightmarishly hard. On the one hand you can talk in hyperbole and superlatives, and cover the essential description – that the band is quite unarguably beyond compare – but to try and describe their sound in detail is infinitely more difficult. As you listen to The Parallels Amongst Ourselves, you’ll come to understand just why this is the case, and that it is a very cool problem to have. Right from the spine-tingling opening of Parallels, it’s pretty obvious that this journey is one into unfamiliar territory…
