In Hearts Wake emerged from Byron Bay, New South Wales in early 2006 as a 5-piece metal fellowship (all born in 1990). Over their teenage years IHW have played with the likes of Parkway Drive, Miss May I (USA), Emmure (USA), Blessed By A Broken Heart (CAN), For Today (USA), Oh Sleeper (USA), The Wonder Years (USA), The Amity Affliction, Confession and Deez Nuts to name a few.
In 2010 In Hearts Wake entered the studio with Dan Brown (Confession, 50 Lions), to record their latest CD release, a 6-track ‘Split’ effort with Sydney’s progressive metal outfit ‘The Bride.’ With 3 releases under their belt, and a debut full length in the midst, IHW opted to release a cover of Chris Brown’s club hit ‘Yeah 3X’. IHW’s aptly named ‘YEAH 4X’ features clean vocals from their newly acquired bass player ‘Kyle Erich’ and guest vocals from fellow BBHC front man ‘Oscar Mcall’ (50 Lions). Jodi Martin started writing songs when she was five. Noticing this trend, her Mum loaned Jodi her tape recorder. At five, this was a momentous event and confirmed Jodi’s obsession with songwriting forever. Jodi met Kasey Chambers and the Chambers family when she was sixteen. The following year, Kasey recorded Jodi’s song ‘Why’ for the Dead Ringer Band’s album ‘Homefires’ which took out Australia’s premier music awards, winning an ARIA Award the following year for Best Country Album.
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia based True Live formed in 2003. They're a unique ensemble that cross boundaries of genre and style while engaging audiences with songs of passion and meaning. With performances and recordings of musical and lyrical depth and a line-up consisting of a three-piece string section (cello, violin, double bass), percussion, keyboards and vocals, the group create a contemporary, organic sound that could only be described as monstrous.
The Cruel Sea is a multi-ARIA Award winning 90s Australian rock/blues outfit. Originally an instrumental band focused on surf sounds, the addition of vocalist Tex Perkins (also a member of The Beasts Of Bourbon and a solo artist) proved an inspired decision. Combining the charismatic Perkins with the highly talented musicians created an unstoppable force through much of the 90s. Members of the band continue to perform, though with the exception of Perkins, most activity is fairly low key.
Over 20 years on, as their legendary status has grown, most people are aware that Strange Tenants were the pre-eminent Australian SKA band of the 1980s. What is often overlooked today, however, is that at their peak, they were one of the most popular and successful live bands of any style. In the early 1980s, hundreds, sometimes thousands of fans - referred to by the music press as "the Tenants' army" - swarmed to their gigs up and down the east coast of Australia. Strange Tenants also did national tours with international acts such as U2, Style Council and UB40.
One of Australia’s up and rising premier metal bands MYTILE VEY LORTH originally formed in late 1999, experimenting in the Doom / Black realm for several years. The band had a full line up which also included keyboards and female vocals. In 2002 they released a self titled EP. Since then the evolution of MYTILE VEY LORTH has progressed into an extreme Blackened Death metal creation, assaulting and obliterating Australian audiences.
