THE GETAWAY PLAN

The Getaway Plan is an alternative rock band from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2004.

Currently comprising of vocalist/guitarist Matthew Wright, guitarist Clint Owen Ellis (Splattering), bassist Mike Maio and drummer Dan Maio.

Their debut release was a demo in 2004. In 2006, The Getaway Plan signed to Boomtown Records and made their debut release through a label, an EP titled Hold Conversation. They found commercial success upon the release of their debut studio album Other Voices, Other Rooms, in 2008. The album peaked at #1 on the Australian Independent Records (AIR) charts and #14 on the ARIA albums chart, spending four weeks in the ARIA top fifty. On February 25th, 2009, they announced that they had split up. Their last shows were held in June.

In November, 2010, they reformed with an announcement of a new album and national tour. In April, 2011, the band headed to Canada to record their second studio album, Requiem which was released on November 4th, 2011.

On July 1st, 2013 the band announced they parted ways with original bass player Dave Anderson, and were no longer with their long time record label/management, UNFD.

On September 1st, 2014, The Getaway Plan announced their plans for their third LP, entitled Dark Horses. The band chose to avoid record labels and remain independent and set up a crowd-funding campaign through Pledgemusic. The band self recorded a 4 track EP entitled Journaux which was made available as an exclusive to pledgers. Dark Horses is set to be released on July 3rd, 2015.

The Gifthorse were a punk band hailing from Brisbane, Queensland. They draw influence from many 90's punk/emo bands such as Samiam, Hot Water Music, Texas Is The Reason and Jawbreaker. Members have gone on to play in Fires of Waco and Headaches.

Bridge And Tunnel

There is more than one artist with this name: Bridge and Tunnel (NY) are an LI-based band with ex-members of Slingshot Dakota, Latterman, Regarding, I and a member of Fellow Project. Presently they have two EPs, a split with Young Livers, and a full length (East/West) out on No Idea records, as well as an EP on Yo Yo Records. Bridge and Tunnel (UK) are a London-based pair of electronic musicians specialising in drifting but melodic music, typically heavily laden with weird samples and abused instruments.

The Quickening

The Quickening were borne a 3 piece punk band some 12 years ago in Brisbane Australia, and for that reason have had trouble shaking their image as a punk band, all be it a increasingly outdated one.
The Quickening have always been renouned for their technical proficency, both in a live and recorded capacity. The addition of a 2nd guitarist in 2007 gave the band an opportunity to solidify their technical prowess and develop their ever broardening style. And to be cocks....

Protest The Hero

Protest the Hero is a band from Whitby, Ontario. Formed in 1999, when they were just 14 years old, they originally used the name Happy Go Lucky, but changed their name before releasing their first EP, A Calculated Use of Sound, to Protest the Hero. This was followed by the release of their first full length, Kezia, on the indie label Underground Operations. On January 23, 2006 the band officially signed with Vagrant Records for Kezia's United States release.

Story of the Year

Story of the Year is a post-hardcore band from St. Louis, Missouri originally formed in 1995. The band currently consists of vocalist Dan Marsala, lead guitarist Ryan Phillips, rhythm guitarist and back up vocalist Philip Sneed, bassist Adam Russell and drummer Josh Wills. Initially named Big Blue Monkey, they changed their name to Story of the Year in 2002 because a blues group of the same name had already existed.

Aly & Fila

Aly Amr Fathalah (Aly) and Fadi Wassef Naguib (Fila), the Egyptian duo, were both born in 1981 and have known each other since kindergarten. After falling in love with the music of Paul van Dyk, Steve Helstrip and Chicane they built their first small studio and started doing electronic music and DJ'ing from 1999. After establishing themselves in Egypt, they decided to go international. In 2002, they signed with the prominent German record label, Euphonic Records.

Forgiven Rival have been hailed as “pioneers in a new breed of urbanised rock”. Breaking into the scene in early 2005 they have continued on the up with a demo out and an impressive year of touring with some top notch Australian and International artists, including Kisschasy, Parkway Drive, Silverstein (CA), I Killed The Prom Queen and more. A band that knows just how important touring is they have impressively played in almost every Australian state and clocked up over 60 shows in one year.
