Hangman's Chair

Southern metal band from Paris, France formed by former <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Es+la+Guerilla" class="bbcode_artist">Es la Guerilla</a> members. They released a split-CD with <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Eibon" class="bbcode_artist">Eibon</a> in february 2007. Their first album, (A Lament For...) The Addicts, was released in september 2007. Some members of the band also play with <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Arkangel" class="bbcode_artist">Arkangel</a>, <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Hellbats" class="bbcode_artist">Hellbats</a>, and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Third+Arm" class="bbcode_artist">Third Arm</a>. Earth

There are several artists using the name "Earth". 1) The most well-known Earth is an american drone doom band formed in 1990 in Olympia, Washington, United States by Dylan Carlson, Slim Moon, and Greg Babior. They are pioneers in the minimalistic and repetitive form of doom metal known as drone doom or stoner drone. The band at some point moved to Seattle where Carlson forged a strong friendship with grunge music icon Kurt Cobain, who sang lead vocals for the song Divine and Bright on the live album Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars.

Nadja

Nadja refers to at least three different bands: 1- Nadja is a Canadian duo featuring multi-instrumentalist Aidan Baker and bassist/vocalist Leah Buckareff. Originally formed in 2003 in Toronto, Canada as a Baker solo project, Buckareff joined in 2005 to bring the project out of the studio and into live settings. To date, Nadja has released over 10 full-length albums, in addition to various EPs, splits, and collaborations with such artists as Atavist, Black Boned Angel, Fear Falls Burning, A Storm of Light, OVO, and Pyramids.

Raven Black Night

It was late 1999 in Adelaide, Australia when these four warriors of the night met. Without speaking they knew what had to be achieved. In their minds they had a plan to bring the world sounds of love, hate, war, peace, doom and destruction. There was the White Knight, with his powerful vocals and his soul bleeding guitar rifs and leads. He would be the one who leads these four into battle. Next is the Duke, who could keep the ancient beats with meticulous timing for the musical mayhem that would follow.

High on Fire

High on Fire is a stoner metal band originally formed from the remnants of the legendary stoner band Sleep. Matt Pike, from Sleep, sings and plays guitar in High on Fire and founded the band with George Rice (bass) and Des Kensel (drums). High on Fire's sound is extremely heavy, drawing influences from the aforementioned Sleep, Motörhead, and even hardcore punk. The Oakland, California band formed in 1998 and released 'The Art of Self Defense' on Man's Ruin Records, in March 2000.

Katatonia

Katatonia formed in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden and was brought together by long time friends, Anders Nyström (aka Blakkheim) and Jonas Renkse (aka Lord Seth). After more than a year of rehearsals and composing, the first real fruits of their labour came to light in mid 1992 with the release of the demo ‘Jhva Elohim Meth’, recorded at Sweden’s Gorysound Studio and produced by the multi-instrumentalist Dan Swanö. The demo sold out immediately, bringing Katatonia to the attention of Dutch label Vic Records, who went on to re-release the demo as a mini CD, titled ‘Jhva Elohim Meth – the Revival’.

Boris

Boris are a Japanese experimental rock band formed in Tokyo in 1992. The band's original lineup consisted of Atsuo, Takeshi, Wata, and Nagata who was the band's original drummer. After his departure, Atsuo took over drums and the lineup has remained consistent to this day. Boris draw influence from a huge variety of styles including, but not limited to, psychedelic rock, punk, sludge, doom metal, drone, pop, noise, shoegaze, and ambient. The band's name is taken from a song on Melvins' album, Bullhead.
