The Ocean

The Ocean is an experimental metal band from Berlin, Germany. Their work combines elements of progressive metal and electronic soundscapes, occasionally incorporating strings to create their aggressive post-metal sound. The band often describes its sound as "ambient soundtrack doomrock". The Ocean was founded in 2000 by guitarist and songwriter Robin Staps. During the following two years, about 40 musicians joined and left the band until a stable line-up was established. July 2002 saw The Ocean play their first concert at Berlin's now defunct semi-legal Eimer Club.

DEAD LETTER OPENER

Formed in early 2005 in Brisbane, Australia. DEAD LETTER OPENER met whilst they were studying music and technology at a Brisbane University, and initially formed the group to complete a recording project imperative to two of the members studies. The potential of becoming a full-time was realised almost immediately and DLO set out to finalise their debut EP and secure national distribution for it. Protest The Hero

Protest the Hero is a band from Whitby, Ontario. Formed in 1999, when they were just 14 years old, they originally used the name Happy Go Lucky, but changed their name before releasing their first EP, A Calculated Use of Sound, to Protest the Hero. This was followed by the release of their first full length, Kezia, on the indie label Underground Operations.
