Mzaza is an alternative group of musicians playing folk fusion music inspired by the likes of Lhasa de Sela, Radio Tarifa, Manu Chao, Édith Piaf and Yasmin Levy. Current members are: Pauline Maudy, Greta Kelly, Jordan Stamos, Stephen Cuttriss, Tim Johannessen, Andrew Vievers. In the past Miranda Deutsch played guitar for this group. Mzaza explores the cross roads between ancient and contemporary melodies from France, Spain, the Balkans and the Middle East.
The Go! Team are a Brighton, United Kingdom-based six piece band (with two drummers) whose songs are a mixture of action theme songs, cheerleader chants, noise-pop guitars and early hip-hop, with a hint of '70s funk. On record their songs are often pieced together largely from samples, although live the songs are performed mostly with live instruments. Founder Ian Parton, born in wales, was previously involved in a band called dig the slowness.
Death in Vegas are a psychedelic rock and electronic band from the United Kingdom, currently comprising two permanent members: Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes. Influenced by a wide range of musical genres including psychedelic rock, electro, krautrock, dub and industrial, the band's sound is constantly in flux, moving between live acoustic and electronic sounds. The band was formed in 1994 by Fearless and Steve Helier and signed to Concrete Records under the name of Dead Elvis.
The Delta Lions are an Australian country/indy/blues influenced rock band based in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Comprising Michael Ferfoglia (guitar/vocals), Mat Taylor (drums/vocals), Ryan Wilson (bass) and Ben Leece (guitar/vocals), The Delta Lions punk rock roots and love for classic song writing, give the band a unique, soulful, sincere sound. Recoil is the project of Alan Wilder, formerly a member of Depeche Mode. Born on 1st June 1959, he is a classically-trained musician and renowned contemporary music producer. Recoil was born in 1986 as a two-track experimental EP. Simply entitled ‘1 + 2’, this collection of primitive demos caught the attention of Mute Records label boss Daniel Miller and was inconspicuously released as a mini-album on 12" vinyl.
There are two bands with the name Gyroscope. The first is a post-grunge rock band from Perth, Western Australia. Gyroscope started as Gyroscope Sunday in Perth in 1997 with Daniel Sanders on guitar/vocals, Zoran Trivic on guitar/vocals, Brad Campbell on bass/vocals and Rob Nassif on drums. They recorded their first demo cassette in 1998 and took up playing regularly on the Perth live circuit whilst also finding time for work and school commitments.
