Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes is an indie folk band which formed in Seattle, Washington, United States in 2006. The band consists of Robin Pecknold (vocals, guitar), Skyler Skjelset (guitar), Christian Wargo (bass, guitar, vocals), Casey Wescott (keyboards, vocals), Morgan Henderson (multiple instruments) and J. Tillman (drums, vocals). They are signed to the labels Sub Pop and Bella Union. Fleet Foxes released the six-track Fleet Foxes EP in 2006, a five-track EP, Sun Giant on April 8, 2008, and their debut full-length self-titled album, Fleet Foxes on June 3, 2008.

Angus & Julia Stone

Siblings Julia and Angus Stone come from Newport, Australia. Angus and Julia’s decision to collaborate was taken at the beginning of 2006. Prior to that, both had performed as solo artists at open mic nights but utilised the other as a backing partner. Ultimately they came up with the same idea, “Why don’t we play together? It kind of made a lot of sense”. In terms of composing the material, they write on their own, then work together on structure and harmonies.

The Head And The Heart

The Head and the Heart is a folk band which formed in 2009 in Seattle, Washington, United States. The band consists of Josiah Johnson (vocals, guitar), Jonathan Russell (vocals, guitar), Charity Rose Thielen (violin, vocals), Chris Zasche (bass), Kenny Hensley (keyboards) and Tyler Williams (drums). Composed primarily of transplants to the Seattle area, The Head and the Heart write and play songs that speak to the newness of a fresh start, of the ghosts left behind, of moving forward, all brimming with a soulfulness and hope for a better life than the one we've all been sold.

Feelings

There are at least THREE bands called Feelings: 1) Lo-fi garage rock band from Detroit, Michigan, USA. 2) Feelings is a band out of Bangladesh. It is almost synonymous with its frontman Jems who is the voice and the guitar genious of the band. The are now known as 'Nagar Baul' which was incidentally one of their album names in the 90s. Their music is a mish mash of a lot of genres from soul, jazz, funk, and rock, and the more traditional styles of Bangladesh. They had a start with more mellow sounds in the likes of Dire Straits, and then incorporated more into their music.

Caspian

There are two artists with the name Caspian: 1. Caspian is an American instrumental rock band from Beverly, Massachusetts. The band formed in Autumn of 2003 and played their first concert in August of 2004. After releasing their debut EP You Are The Conductor (Dopamine, 2005) in late 2005, the band spent most of 2006 touring The United States and Canada and writing their debut full-length record The Four Trees (Dopamine, 2007). "The Four Trees" was released in the U.S. on April 10, Japan on May 2 and in Europe in July of 2008.

WU LYF

WU LYF (pronounced "Woo Life", stands for "World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation") are a band from Manchester, England that originally became known for creating a mystery about themselves by declining requests for interviews and not releasing much information to the press. The band describes their music as "heavy pop". Members:

Imaginary Cities

Imaginary Cities are Rusty Matyas and Marti Sarbit. It all started at The Cavern. Winnipeg is known as the “Heart of the Continent.” In this beating heart on the prairies, there is always new music being made: in its clubs and basements, and in between work and life. Imaginary Cities was born in a club called The Cavern, in between sets. Their debut album, Temporary Resident, has been nominated for the 2011 Polaris Prize Longlist, and they have been gaining fans around the world for their renowned live performances, including a stint opening for the Pixies across North America.

The Vagrant City Scandal

The Vagrant City Scandal burst onto the music scene in early 2007, with a rock n roll energy, the likes of which has rarely been seen. With the release of their debut E.P. ‘Dirty Town’ came dingy pub shows, acclaimed live reviews and the experience to combine a command of the stage with an honest representation of their infectious sound.
The Vagrant City Scandal have supported the likes of British India (MELB), Evermore (MELB) and Art vs Science (SYD)
