The Black Lips are a self-described "flower punk" band which formed in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in 2000. While still teenagers, they formed after guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left the Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left the Reruns. Drummer Joe Bradley joined a few months later. They released their first 7" in late 2001/early 2002 on their own Die Slaughterhaus label.

Epithets is a collective-type arrangement led by Nick Smethurst, formerly of Let's Not (but say we did) and Mr. Maps, and presently also of Carry Nation and Lion Island . For the self-titled debut release, the ensemble of players is made up of current or former members of Let's Not (but say we did), To the North, Carry Nation, Lion Island, Rialto Decibel Choir, The Paper and The Plane, chalkandcheese and others. The Casanovas were originally formed in 1999 with all three original members hailing from Melbourne, Australia. The Casanovas was the brainchild of brothers, Tommy and Patrick Boyce and original bassist, Jimmy Lewis. The Boyce brothers met Jim while working together scrubbing pots & pans in the back kitchen of Pattersons cake shop in Windsor, Melbourne. The idea of the name ‘The Casanovas’ was partly inspired by the look of the ‘Casablanca’ records logo that featured on early Kiss vinyls that they all grew up listening to.

Owl City is an American electropop musical project by Adam Young. Young started out making music in 2007 in his basement in his hometown of Owatonna, Minnesota, United States, later developing a following through his MySpace profile before being signed to Universal Republic. Owl City released Ocean Eyes on iTunes July 14, 2009, with the physical release following on July 28, 2009. His best known track is 2009's "Fireflies", which in October 2009 hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 in the UK Top 40 on January 24th 2010.
