Catcall’s sound omits whiffs of early Kate Bush, Grace Jones and Tom Tom Club but also stands next to contemporaries such as Santigold, The Knife and disco queen Glass Candy; her original style shows off a strong character, with beats and quirky melodies that quickly sublet their way into your brain 23-year old Catherine Kelleher cut her musical teeth as a teenager in DIY punk group Kiosk; a band famed for their polarizing and bratty no-wave noise sound but eventually discovered their pop sensibility within the aggression and urgency of punk rock.

Shoes and socks off

Lo-Fi solo project of ex Meet Me in St Louis front-man and former bassist from Shield Your Eyes Toby Hayes. Toby recorded his debut acoustic album 'From the Muddy Banks of the Melitzer' on September 24th 2008, which has been released on Big Scary Monsters Records. Acting as a two-part release, 'From The Muddy Banks...' has been followed up with a second album, 'Hand-reared Suburban Piglet'. This second record features the same ten songs, but re-recorded with full orchestration.

The Temper Trap

The Temper Trap is an indie rock band which formed in 2005 in Melbourne, Australia. Now based in London, the band consists of Dougy Mandagi (vocals, guitar), Jonathon Aherne (bass), Toby Dundas (drums) and Joseph Greer (keyboards, guitar).

In October 2013, an official statement confirmed that lead guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto parted ways with the band

The Temper Trap's debut album, Conditions, was released in 2009 and contains the singles Sweet Disposition, Fader, Love Lost and Science of Fear. Sweet Disposition became an international hit after appearing in the film â€œ(500) Days of Summerâ€, reaching the Top 20 in multiple countries. Sweet Disposition also appeared on "Greek".

The band's self-titled second album was released in 2012, spawning the singles Need Your Love and Trembling Hands. The album debuted at #1 in Australia and has garnered positive reviews from around the globe.

The Album Leaf

The Album Leaf officially began in 1998 as the solo project of Jimmy LaValle, guitarist for San Diego, California-based post-rock band Tristeza. LaValle has also performed in several other San Diego-area bands, including Swing Kids, The Locust, GoGoGo Airheart, and The Black Heart Procession. An Orchestrated Rise to Fall Jimmy LaValle had been playing guitar in the post-rock instrumental band Tristeza.

Devendra Banhart

Devendra Banhart (Born 30th May 1981 in Houston, Texas, but raised in Venezuela) is a folk singer and composer whose first few records were released on the young god records label from New York City. His most recent CD was released by Warner Brothers. He is one of the most popular artists to come out of the "new weird america" movement, which includes performers such as Faun Fables, Viking Moses, Jack Rose, Jana Hunter, Arborea, The MV & EE Medicine Show, Currituck Co., Six Organs of Admittance, and The Royal We, among others. He also often joins the band known as Vetiver.

The Books

The story of The Books began in 2000, when Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong met through a friend in New York City. Sharing similar interests but different backgrounds in acoustic music and found sound, Zammuto and de Jong took their sonic experiments to the studio. Eventually, with some urging by Tom Steinle of Tomlab Records, they created what would become their debut record, 'Thought for Food', in 2002.

Joshua Radin

Joshua Radin is an acoustic singer/songwriter. When close friend and actor/film-maker Zach Braff heard a demo of Radin's song "Winter," he was immediately interested, and got the song onto the show Scrubs in the episode "My Screw Up." The song received an overwhelmingly positive response and gave Radin substantial exposure with the show's demographic. The songs "Today", "Closer", "Don't Look Away" and "These Photographs" were also used on the show.

The New Pornographers

The New Pornographers are a Canadian indie rock group formed in 1997 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Their sound is influenced by that of such power pop bands as The Cars and Cheap Trick, but they use much more sophisticated rhythms and chord changes. Although it was widely reported that the New Pornographers got their name from a pamphlet put out by televangelist Jimmy Swaggart condemning rock ‘n’ roll as “the new pornography,” Carl Newman has stated that he came up with the name after watching a Japanese film called The Pornographers.
