Grim Demise are a thrash metal band based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. The band was formed by two ex-members of the now defunct band Seventh Eve, Richard and Luke (Pendo). They decided to leave because as the band's main songwriters they had begun to write material that, according to the other members, did not fit in with the band's melodic sound. Shortly after their departure, they began the search for a bassist.

No Pressure formed on 27th August 2007 consisting of Matt (Joey) Piper, Ben Pinner and Luke Wangmann. Matt and Ben have known each other since Kindergarten and they both met Luke at a Battle of the Bands at Club Tuggerah in January this year. The boys decided to form a band and all they needed now was a singer and rhythm guitarist, so the hunt was on. Matt, Ben and Luke remembered meeting Josh Keane who was performing solo at the time.
Grinspoon are an Australian post-grunge band from Lismore, Australia, fronted by Phil Jamieson with Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass and Kristian Hopes on drums. Founded in 1995, they came to fame when they were Unearthed by national, commercial-free radio station Triple J thanks to their track Sickfest. This won them the competition for the Lismore area. The band was heavily influenced by "grunge" music in their early career, including the band Helmet, and developed a strong following among mosh pit crowds.

Nancy Vandal is a punk band from Sydney, Australia that performed from 1993 to 2001 and had a reunion performance in 2003 and have, as of December 2008, planned a reunion and new EP for 2009. The band was initially called Hard Axe To Follow, then Nancy Vandal and the Popgun Assassins, but the last part of the name was later dropped. Nancy Vandal was formed by Warrane College students Foxtrotsky/Fox Trotsky and JJ LaMoore as a strictly pretend band as neither of them could play an instrument. Eventually the pair formed a real band called Meataxe that played on campus.

The lineup of Noiseworks was Jon Stevens (lead vocals), Stuart Fraser (guitar), Steve Balbi (bass), Justin Stanley (keyboards) and Kevin Nicol (drums). Considered to be one of Australia's more successful rock bands of the late 1980s, their self-titled debut in 1987 had a series of successful singles, such as "No Lies," "Take Me Back," and "Welcome to the World.

The band formed in Adelaide in 1973 as a heavy metal band called Orange around keyboard player Don Walker and original bassist Les Kascmarek and while hard rock remained at the core of their sound Cold Chisel displayed a remarkable versatility.
