Planet of the Stereos

Planet of the Stereos are an award-winning alternative popular-rock band from Sydney, Australia. The planets have fraternised the Australian east-coast scene since the wall came down, building a following of friendly fans who know how to dance. Having been voted national winners of the Nokia Be Heard band competition, Planet spent several months in Montreal recording their début album "How To Build a Telescope" with Grammy-winning producer Mike Shipley. The John Butler Trio

The John Butler Trio is an eclectic roots/jam band from Australia led by guitarist and vocalist John Butler. Two of the band's albums, Three (2001) and Living 2001-2002 (2003), have gone platinum in Australia, each reaching the top ten of the Australian album charts. John Butler was born on April 1, 1975 in Torrance, California to an Australian father and American mother. He moved to the small Western Australian town of Pinjarra on 26 January 1986 when he was eleven.

Ruthie Foster

Ruthie Foster is an American singer/songwriter of blues and folk music. She is from Gause, Texas and from a family of gospel singers. She studied music at McLennan Community College and then worked in the US Navy, where she started performing. Her debut was released in 1997 and she has performed in North America, Europe and Australia. She has often been compared to Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin.

Sunshine State

The band, Sunshine State, is based in Toronto, Canada. They started out more like a therapy session between the band’s core members: James Bryan and Aleza Coldevin. James is already an established artist even before Sunshine State was formed. He is one of Canada's best-respected young guitarists, producers and songwriters, having penned over a dozen top 40 hits for various artists including Nelly Furtado, Fefe Dobson, and Divine Brown. He is also a member of multi platinum bands: The Philosopher Kings and Prozzak.

Jill Barber

Drawing on influences from old-time jazz standards, folk balladry and traditional country, Halifax Nova Scotia’s Jill Barber has become one of Canada’s most distinctive young voices. Jill is gaining acclaim and radio play for her new 2008 album " Chances" and her status as a 2008 double-Juno nominee and multiple East Coast Music Award winner for previous releases "For all Time" (2006) and "Oh Heart" (2004).

The Tealeaves

The Tealeaves sound is inspired by the era of the great singer-songwriters, including Cat Stevens, Simon & Garfunkel and Don McLean. Their music overflows with melody, harmony and lyrical honesty, and has been described as “heart wrenching to say the least”. James, the original leaf, gathered the group together in 2008 to prepare and record their self-titled debut album with eminent producer and engineer, Hadyn Buxton. Traversing a wide range of musical styles, their songs range from harmony filled wall-of-sound band tracks to intimate, melancholy indie-pop.
