Sky High

Swedish blues/rock band similar to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. After numerous line-up changes over the years, and the only constant member, guitarist/singer Clas Yngström in front, the band Sky High continues to perform powerful bluesrock. Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1978, Clas Yngström & Sky High released albums all through the 80's, and the most commersial sucessfull album to date, Humanizer in 1987.

Salamander

There are several bands with that name: 1. Minneapolis outfit Salamander began as a duo in the summer of 1992 featuring Erik Wivinus and Sean Connaughty on guitars and vocals. They played mostly mellow drone-based instrumentals that in retrospect sounded much like contemporaries Labradford or Low. Doug Morman joined on bass in early 1993. They recorded and played gigs as a drummer-less trio until Bryce Kastning joined on drums and keyboards in early 1994.

There are several artists using this name. 1. An alternative Indie-Pop band from Cork, Ireland. The five-piece group are renowned for their distinctive style and energetic, charming live performances. Their third album 'Go God Go' was released in Ireland in June 2008, to great critical acclaim and has also received mass exposure on the national airwaves. It is also available in Canada through a licensing deal forged with Toronto-based indie label Sparks Music. A US release is scheduled for 2009.

Wooden Shjips is a vital and refreshingly inspired quartet from San Francisco playing loud rock ‘n’ roll in a style heavily influenced by the experimentalism of psychedelia, classical minimalism and garage rock excess. Started as an experiment in rhythmic primitivism and group improvisation, the current lineup brings a more structured rock approach to its performances, utilizing a traditional lineup of drums (Omar Ahsanuddin), bass (Dusty Jermier), organ (Nash Whalen), guitar (Erik “Ripley” Johnson) and vocals.

Earthless

Earthless is the brainchild of Mario Rubalcaba, Mike Eginton and Isaiah Mitchell. Rubalcaba, a prolific drummer, has worn the alias of Ruby Mars during his stint with Rocket from the Crypt, went on to bang away for the Hot Snakes, was the drummer for hardcore art-punks Clikatat Ikatowi and previously was in the Black Heart Procession… and prior to that? Mario was a member of Tony Alva’s Alva Team skateboarding crew.

Black Mountain

Black Mountain is a Canadian rock band led by Stephen McBean. The band is an amalgamation of the Classic Rock / Blues Rock of Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath with some psychedelic tendencies. Leader Stephen McBean also heads another similarly-named band, Pink Mountaintops, who are the more experimental side of McBean's musical abilities. Black Mountain is the front line band for Black Mountain Army.

There is more than one artist with this name:
1) iOTA is an Australian musician making his name not only in music, but on stage. He arrived on the music scene in 1999 with his debut album "The Hip Bone Connection". Since then he has had two ARIA Award nominations and gone on to release three more albums and a renowned EP "Little Carlos". In 2006 iOTA took to the stage as Hedwig Robinson, the lead of the cult musical Hedwig & the Angry Inch.
