My Left Boot

My Left Boot combine elements of 70s fuzz rock, 60s psychedelia and grunge era heavyness with high energy and pinch of salt to form a band that is both exciting and high in blood pressure. The group began early in 2005, initially with an aim to make postcards and wrapping paper, but it quickly developed into a music project when the home craft industry suddenly crashed. In late 2005 The Boot released "Season of the Time", a 5 track EP which gave hints of their developing sound.

The Stabs

Formerly called Jodi Moore as a tribute to an acquaintance who didn't want the honour of seeing her name in the street press, The Stabs acquired their new name not long after starting to play irregular gigs at small Melbourne venues around 2003. They have the honour of clearing the 'Airport Lounge' at Monash Uni faster than any other lunchtime act, with only three diehards ending up braving the wall of noise for the whole set.

Weddings Parties Anything

Weddings Parties Anything, often known as WPA and Weddoes, is an Australian folk rock band formed by Mick Thomas in Melbourne in 1985 and continuing until 1998. Their name came from a Clash song ("Revolution Rock") and musicologist Billy Pinnell described their first album as the best Australian rock debut since Skyhooks' Living in the '70s. WPA initially gained a reputation as a hot new band through their constant touring in their early days, however they never really became a commercial success.

Chris Altmann

Writing a concise biography of Chris Altmann is hard. It’s hard to pin him down. Perhaps “Multi-instrumentalist” is the most fitting description, but that doesn’t allow for his other artistic facets; he’s also a songwriter, a performer, a band leader, a collaborator, and a session musician. “Multi-talented” may be a better depiction. Altmann has been fascinated with music since he was old enough to reach the keys on a piano.

Princess One Point Five

What’s in a name?
Quite a lot actually. And sometimes not much at all. The Hebrew name Sarah indicates a woman of high rank and is sometimes translated as “princess”, described in the Hebrew Bible and the Qu’ran as the wife of Abraham. It also means “lady.” One Point Five, in this case, is a measurement in metres In a rather obscure nutshell, this brings us to the origins of Melbourne duo, Princess One Point Five; a marriage of seemingly unrelated elements that come together to spawn a sassy, clever, and deeply idiosyncratic little outfit.
