Horse Meat Disco

The UK’s finest disco operators, Horse Meat Disco, return with another killer album of tried and tested underground disco, Italo and rarities that have been rocking crowds from their base in Vauxhall, London, to dancefloors worldwide during 2009-10.

Since their acclaimed debut compilation on Strut in 2009, residents James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Severino and Luke Howard (aka Filthy Luka) have continued to lead the way with their packed residencies at The Eagle, London, Lux in Lisbon, Tape in Berlin and Cihan in Istanbul. During 2010, as well as revisiting UK festivals like Glastonbury, Lovebox and T In The Park, they will be spreading the disco love to some of the world’s leading festivals also so watch this space!

Horse Meat Disco Volume 2 brings together another essential selection of New York classics alongside a host of lesser known discoveries for all fans of underground disco. Anthems include Zanzibar favourite ‘You Can Get Over’ by Stephanie Mills, Italo staple ‘Walkman’ by Kasso and Rinder & Lewis’ ‘Afrodesia’ under their El Coco pseudonym. Rarities include ‘I’m Not In Love (Girl You’re In Love)’ by Freda Payne’s sister Scherrie, ‘Cherchez Pas’ by Swedish model-turned-singer Madleen Kane and Italo oddity ‘’Touch Me Now’ by Bravo.

Horse Meat Disco is dedicated to the industry of human happiness and it pumps it out every Sunday at THE EAGLE LONDON (formerly South Central). Its the queer party for everyone; Homos and Heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerilla drag queens and ladies who munch. Musically its a disco behemoth of classics, italo disco, oddities, punk funk in the friendliest venue south of the river. Plus weekly buffet, happy hour, decorations, and spontaneous acts of exhibitionism.

Gung Ho

Gung-Ho is a US television sitcom that originally aired on NBC from July 5, 1989, to May 14, 1998, lasting nine seasons, and is now in syndication. The eponymous band was created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, with the latter starring as a fictionalized version of himself. Set predominantly in an apartment block on Manhattan's Upper West Side (but shot mainly in Los Angeles), the band features a host of Jerry's friends and acquaintances, including George Costanza, Elaine Benes and Cosmo Kramer.

John Thompson

John Thompson is the best known performer of early music for the Chinese silk string zither, the music instrument most favored by Chinese philosophers and aesthetes (in Chinese: qin ["chin"] or guqin ["goo-chin"]). After a college degree in Western musicology (early music) and graduate studies in ethnomusicology, he began in 1974 to study China's silk-string guqin zither as played at present. Since 1976 he has focused on early repertoire, personally reconstructing over 150 melodies published in 15th and 16th century handbooks.

There is more than one "Fugitive": (1) Fugitive was formed in November 1990 inspired by such groups as Led Zepplin, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Mororhead, iron Maiden to name a few - firmly planting their roots in the british rock scene. As bands like Thunder and Skin appeared on the scene, Fugitive found like minded musicians willing to give it all to keep the "British Rock" band alive.

MOST (1): japanese punk band formed by Phew (vocals), Seiichi Yamamoto, Yusuke Nishimura, Masayuki Chatani and Hisato Yamamoto. Most (2): Most is a dj from Geneva, mixing lot of italo, disco, electro, hiphop and techno stuff he's spinning records since around 2003 and have a very special touch in his italo mix. He's also mixing italo or disco instrumental with hiphop accapela which give a special approache in his mix and he do it with a very nice feeling.

Emerging from the edge of the Rubicon River, Tasmania (AUS), Lyke Giants have quickly been making a name for themselves since the release of their first; self titled EP at the end of 2010, for which they collaborated with
Aria award-winning producer Paul McKercher (Sarah Blasko, Eskimo Joe, Pete Murray, The Living End, You am I).
Defining their music is challenging as they meld multiple genres and create their own brew of Indie Rock/Pop, intertwining semi-hectic rhythms, flowing vocals and layered atmospheric instrumentation.
