Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes

Hard hitting rhythm and blues nine-piece, Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes, released their debut album in November, 2011. With launch parties announced in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, CB/BR are never ones to shy away from a full-blown production. These very special evenings will be reminiscent of the old school dancehall party days, where the hair is high and the music is sleazy. The record has been in the making for two years and was recorded with and produced by the gifted, Steve Schram (Little Red, Little Birdy, Cat Empire, Eagle and the Worm, Ground Components).

Vashti Bunyan

Vashti Bunyan is an English singer who was publicized to be the next Marianne Faithfull and the female version of Bob Dylan back in the mid-60s. Several singles were released in the 1960s to some mild success. Bunyan also released the LP, Just Another Diamond Day, in 1970 which consisted of songs written while traveling in a horse drawn gypsy cart. Critics panned the album and a discouraged Vashti soon disappeared from the music scene.

Honestly I don't know how I sound the way I do - My ears are always switched on searching for cool and unusual sounds. I hear them in the hustle and bustle of city streets, building sites, cafes, and playgrounds. I have a vivid imagination, and can tune out and step right into a dream, at the drop of a hat. My friends think that my head is in the clouds and my producer Jonathan Zion thinks there is no doubt about it. This doesn't bother me at all, it's how I write my songs. It's very magical. I just sit at my piano, gaze out my window and dream.
