Founding Puro Instinct (formerly Pearl Harbor) members Piper and Skylar Kaplan began playing together in the summer of '08 with no experience and no idea what they were getting themselves into. After a year or so, they put together a proper band (Dodi Porter, Jessie Clavin, Mike Baum, and Crazy Murray) to begin crafting their ethereal pop confections. Armed with a barrage of gorgeously intertwining guitar lines, vocals drenched in swooning reverb, and a subtle tsunami of dark synth melodies.

At just twenty years old, Jasmine Rae is a brand new talent with a very exciting future, following her huge win at the 2008 Telstra Road To Tamworth in January.
She's quirky, she's funny, she's fresh and, even though she's small in stature, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter, Jasmine Rae has a powerful, professionally-trained voice that is hugely impressive.
She has been a performer and writer since she was seven years old, when her poetry was sold at an independent fairy stall. She performed her first original song at eight years old and began vocal training at thirteen.

In the end of the 80s and in the early 90s, Roxette, a pop-rock duo from Halmstad, Sweden, stood among the top bands in worldwide sales and notoriety, brandishing a simple yet effective blend of pop with a slight edge and occasional hints of dance. The group claims influences ranging from The Beatles to Blondie to new wave music to Joni Mitchell and Aretha Franklin. Perhaps, years after the fact...

Honestly I don't know how I sound the way I do - My ears are always switched on searching for cool and unusual sounds. I hear them in the hustle and bustle of city streets, building sites, cafes, and playgrounds. I have a vivid imagination, and can tune out and step right into a dream, at the drop of a hat. My friends think that my head is in the clouds and my producer Jonathan Zion thinks there is no doubt about it. This doesn't bother me at all, it's how I write my songs. It's very magical. I just sit at my piano, gaze out my window and dream.
