Glasser

Glasser is the recording and stage name of the American singer songwriter Cameron Mesirow. Her experimental music blends densely layered electronic sounds with various acoustic instruments and her angelic voice. She is often compared with artists like Fever Ray, Björk, Bat For Lashes and Florence + The Machine. The name "Glasser" was inspired by "a midnight vision of a figure hovering over water".

tUnE-yArDs is the moniker of Oakland-based musician Merrill Garbus. To date, she has two full-length studio albums and is currently signed to the British independent record label 4AD. She was formerly a member of Sister Suvi. Her debut album Bird-Brains was first released on limited edition vinyl and cassette in June 2009, via the Portland-based imprint Marriage Records. In July 2009, it was announced that tUnE-yArDs had signed to 4AD, and a limited edition pressing of BiRd-BrAiNs was released on August 17, 2009.

KRISTEENYOUNG is a piano/keyboard and drums "rock" duo, in the golden years sense of the word, when rock was simultaneously adventurous, original, scary and fun. The pair is made up of singer, writer, pianist/keyboardist, Kristeen Young and drummer "Baby" Jeff White. Kristeen's distinctive voice has been heralded, by many, as the best new voice in rock. Heidi Elva is a sound and visual artist from New Zealand living in Melbourne, Australia. Heidi creates soundscapes using a laptop, a harp, vocals, minimal beats, iphone, effects and samples. Her music comes out of time spent delving into deep imagery from mystical influences and listening to the movement around her - the wind howling around the outside corners of her apartment, the entangled lovers fighting next door or an early morning train along the tracks.

Jessica Says

Jessica Says is 21 year old Melbourne singer-songwriter Jessica Venables, cellist and vocal harmoniser for the likes of New Buffalo, Jens Lekman, Sly Hats and Grand Salvo. Her debut solo album was released on cult label Unstable Ape Records / Remote Control on March 21, 2009. Recorded by Melbourne indie wunderkind Geoff O'Connor (Crayon Fields/Sly Hats), the album is built around Jessica's vocals, piano playing and her intricate string arrangements and features a vocal cameo by New Buffalo's Sally Seltmann.

Sleigh Bells

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Sleigh Bells is the musical collaboration of Derek E. Miller (songwriter, guitarist, producer) and Alexis Krauss (vocalist, lyricist). The two met and formed in 2008, when Miller was waiting tables on Alexis and her mother at a neighborhood Brazilian restaurant. When Miller mentioned that he was looking for a female vocalist for a new musical project, Krauss’s mother immediately volunteered her daughter.

The Grates

The Grates are a two-piece band from Brisbane, Australia, comprising Patience Hodgson (vocals), John Patterson (guitar) and Alana Skyring (drums) formed in 2002. They have been lauded for their catchy songs and enthusiastic and energetic live show (Patience spends much of the show bouncing around, even while singing). They are frequently described as fun: "We just wanna have fun and hope other people do too." (Patience). Their sound has been compared to the Ramones, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Be Your Own Pet. In March 2006 they played at the South by Southwest trade music fair in Texas.
