Arctic

Arctic can refer to two bands. 1. ARCTIC is an electropsych/space-rock band from Vancouver, Canada, formed in 2001.
2. Arctic is a rock band from Brisbane, Australia, formed in 2007. ------------ 1. ARCTIC draws much of its sonic inspiration from the vast expanses of the northern landscape where frontman Marcus Martin was raised. Growing up in Yellowknife, Martin would join his father, a pilot, on trips to remote settlements and camps in the Northwest Territories of Canada.

Seagull refers to two different bands, one based in Melbourne, Australia; the other in the UK. They are listed below in order of popularity. 1. Seagull is Melbourne dweller Chris Bolton, sometimes joined by Ed Bolton (bass) Kishore Ryan (drums) and Michael Zulicki (percussion, melodica) and occasionally, Blake Byron-Smith, who provides visuals. Lisa Helen Mitchell was born in England on March the 22nd of 1990, although migrated to New South Wales, Australia at the age of three. She is the eldest of two in a family which resides in the border town of Albury, Australia. Her musical journey began at age twelve when she started taking guitar lessons with a focus on rock and folk. Not long after, she fronted a cover band called Chrome - predominately playing in local cafes.

Matt Stevens

Matt Stevens is a musician and composer from North London, UK. He uses an acoustic guitar and a sampler to create multi layered tracks live. This is often called Live Looping. His music is compared with artists as diverse as John McLaughlin and Sigur Rós. He plays live all over the UK. You can download both his albums for free from his website.

The Waifs

The Waifs (originally styled as The WAiFS) are an Australian folk rock band formed in 1992 in Albany, Western Australia, by Josh Cunningham (guitar, vocals), and sistersVikki Thorn (née Simpson) (harmonica, guitar, vocals) and Donna Simpson (guitar, vocals). Their tour band includes Ben Franz (bass) and David Ross Macdonald (drums).

The band's 2003 album Up All Night reached the top five of the Australian Albums Chart, it achieved double platinum status and won four ARIA Awards in October. Two further top five albums were issued, Sun Dirt Water in 2007 and Temptation in 2011. The Waifs have three top fifty singles, "London Still" (2002), "Bridal Train" (2004) and "Sun Dirt Water". The band supported Bob Dylan on his 2003 Australian tour and then his 2003 North American tour, including a gig at the Newport Folk Festival.

The Waifs founded the independent label Jarrah Records in July 2002, co-owned with fellow musician John Butler, and their common manager Phil Stevens, which handles their Australian releases.
