Juzzie Smith

Juzzie Started playing the harmonica at 13. By 23 he had won the coveted Golden Harmonica at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and the Byron Bay Blues Blowout twice. He has in the course of his musical journey embraced and mastered a range of instruments, and absorbed influence from some diverse musical styles. Juzzie has played in a lot of bands, some fantastic and some forgettable, and performed with some of Australia's best musicians, including John Butler, Damon Davies, Jodi Martin and Jeff Lang.

Kevin Devine is an American songwriter and musician from Brooklyn, New York, who is known for alternately introspective and political lyrics and melodic acoustic guitar tunes. He cites his influences as Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, Guns N' Roses, Brother Paramo and Nirvana, among others. He grew up in Brooklyn and Staten Island, and has spent significant time in Manhattan and Queens as well. Devine graduated Fordham University at Lincoln Center in 2001, majoring in journalism. He also played in an indie/punk/emo band called Miracle of 86 after the (Miracle) New York Mets.

When you take two men and give them a smorgasbord of ukuleles, banjoleles, cigar-box guitars, cajons and a selection of triangles then you're clearly a fool. Or just possibly... the person responsible for the greatest weird instrument comedy band in the world. We don't know. But personally we like to play ukuleles, banjoleles, cigar-box guitars and various other weird instruments and try and write stupid songs on them. We hope you enjoy our efforts...

Ange Takats

National Folk Festival winner of the 2008 Lis Johnston Award for vocal excellence, Ange Takats' voice has been described as Joan Baez meets Gillian Welch. Her debut album Aniseed Tea tells stories of knitting, longing and lovely Irishmen. Born in Sydney but now based on the Sunny Coast, Ange somehow managed to begin her musical journey in Bangkok where she was based for two years as a foreign correspondent.

Equiped with both an accoustic guitar and accoustic lap-steel slide guitar, Alesa conjures a magical language that draws on the complex ornamentation of traditional Scottish and Irish bagpipe and fiddle tunes, blues, and the music of Eastern Europe. Alesa grew up in Southern Queensland, Australia, where she attended the Brisbane Independant School. From an early age, she showed promise in Visual Art, Dance and Music.
