Beth Orton

Elizabeth Caroline Orton, commonly known as Beth Orton, (born 14th December 1970), is a BRIT Award–winning English singer-songwriter. Perhaps best described as a folk/electronica artist, Beth Orton was born in East Dereham, Norfolk, and moved to East London at the age of fourteen. Orton found success as a musician late, having been more interested in acting during her early career. Devendra Banhart

Devendra Banhart (Born 30th May 1981 in Houston, Texas, but raised in Venezuela) is a folk singer and composer whose first few records were released on the young god records label from New York City. His most recent CD was released by Warner Brothers. He is one of the most popular artists to come out of the "new weird america" movement, which includes performers such as Faun Fables, Viking Moses, Jack Rose, Jana Hunter, Arborea, The MV & EE Medicine Show, Currituck Co., Six Organs of Admittance, and The Royal We, among others. He also often joins the band known as Vetiver.

Carus Thompson

Carus Thompson is the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter of the Australian reggae band Carus and The True Believers. Carus was born in Fremantle, Australia in 1976. He developed a taste for music at a young age and began playing musical instruments at 12 years of age. By the time he turned 18 Carus was making a living out of performing and so he began the band, Carus and The True Believers. Carus describes his music as being a mix of roots, folk, reggae, and funk, though in a recent interview pointed out he would like his music to be known mainly as "Australian.

When the mother of guitarist Alister Wright banned him from playing Counter Strike and signed him up for the local musical to make some friends, Mamma Wright claimed she only did what any mother would have done. It was, however, an act of exemplary parenting that would be applauded in child-rearing manuals for years to come. From his back row position in the chorus of Pirates of Penzance, Alister could see that the production team was having issues with the shaggy-haired lighting man Ulrich Lenffer, whose need to hit things rhythmically made him useless at following the directors cues.

Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power, while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City, United States in 1992, then later opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee.

A former member of rap groups OFX and Saïan Supa Crew, he released his first solo album, entitled Jeune à la retraite, October 12, 2009. Cheer Advisory Council

Cheer Advisory Council formed in Adelaide, Australia in late 2008. At its biggest, the Council now boasts seven members, even reclaiming the bassoon as the rock instrument it always knew it could be. The band's dusky, smoky feel, with slow tempos and crashing crescendos, is reminiscent of the music of Low, The National, Midlake and Wilco. Their first album, 'Distance', will be released independently on 30 April 2011, featuring many group harmonies, some pop hooks and one big guitar solo.
