Holly Kirby

Holly Kirby is a singer-songwriter and musician from the Isle of Wight, England. Her YouTube channel, alpet07, which she set up aged 16 in 2007, is frequently one of the most viewed musician's sites on YouTube in the UK. In the past year much of Holly's work has been an eclectic mix of Celtic, folk and pop music. Holly appeared as Enya in a popular British TV show ("Stars In Their Eyes Kids") in 2006, when she was 15, singing "Orinoco Flow" .

Ryan Adams

Ryan Adams (born David Ryan Adams on November 5, 1974) is an alt-country and rock and roll singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Adams dropped out of high school at age 16 to work in a shoe shop and make music. He formed a band named Whiskeytown in 1994; they disbanded in 1999 having released two full albums, Faithless Street and Strangers Almanac. Adams went on to put out his first solo record, Heartbreaker, in 2000. After a long delay, in 2001 Whiskeytown's third album Pneumonia was finally issued.

Ted Egan is an Australian folk singer/songwriter who grew up and lived most of his life in the northern parts of Australia. His songs are many, and tell stories about people and times in Australian history, sometimes serious, sometimes quite funny. First is Carlos Fausto Bordalo Dias, or simply Fausto, is a portuguese multi-instrumentalist musician born in 1948. 2. Fausto is a Dutch DJ, born in 1970, Amsterdam. 1. Having grown up in Angola, he received influences from African ethnic music there. Militant against the fascist government in Portugal, he teamed with other great names of Portuguese "Folk" like José Afonso, Sérgio Godinho, José Mário Branco and Adriano Correia de Oliveira.

Luka Bloom

Luka Bloom (born 23 May 1955 as Barry Moore) is an accomplished Irish folk-rock singer-songwriter. He is also the younger brother of Irish folk singer Christy Moore. In order to avoid the pressure of being related to Christy Moore, Bloom adopted his pseudonym. "Luka" is taken from the title of Suzanne Vega's song "Luka" about child abuse and "Bloom" refers to the main character in James Joyce's Ulysses. Bloom is, however, very forthcoming about being Moore's brother and does not hide behind his stage name.

Taraf de Haïdouks

taraful haiducilor (a.k.a. Taraf de Haïdouks) are a troupe of Romanian Gypsy musicians, from the town of Clejani, the most prominent such group in Romania in the post-Communist Era. "Haiduc" or "haiduk" is a word of Balkan origin which means something like "outlaw"; in Romanian it has a rustic or archaic connotation. Most of those who know the band in the Western world know them by way of French-speaking areas, where they are known as "Taraf de Haïdouks", since French lacks a genitive case. They are known in their native Romania as "taraful haiducilor".

Junip

Junip was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in the late '90s by José González (guitar, vocals), Elias Araya (drums) and Tobias Winterkorn (organ, moog). Their first 7-inch came out in 2000, followed in 2006 by the self-released “BLACK REFUGE” EP. Junip has periodically gathered together to record when schedules permitted – including 2009’s RCRDLBL-distributed single “Chickens/Azaleadalen” – but an upcoming album and tour schedule marks the first time the members will focus exclusively on the band.

Luluc

Melbourne folk duo Luluc (pronounced Lou-Luke) might be a new name to many but they come packing an impeccable resume. Singer Zoe Randell is perhaps best known for her magical vocal accompaniment to Paddy Mann in the much loved Grand Salvo, while Steve "Harmony" Hassett is the bass player in mythical alt-indie-country dudes Wagons. The duo are about to release their debut Dear Hamlyn in a couple of weeks. Fans of Gillian Welch, Iron and Wine, M Ward, Bon Iver et al take note.The duo also had some help on the record from ex-Sodastream double-bassist Pete Cohen.

A.A. Bondy

A.A. Bondy is an abbreviation of Auguste Arthur Bondy (aka Scott Bondy), the former lead singer of Birmingham, AL's Southern grunge darlings Verbena. After Verbena broke up in 2003, Bondy retreated to a Catskills home in Palenville in upstate New York and in time began writing songs again, emerging with a stripped-down indie folk sound. He recorded and mixed his debut album, "American Hearts", at a barn near his home, releasing the project in 2007 on the Superphonic imprint. The album was picked up by Fat Possum and re-released early in 2008.
