Rummaging through the bones of 60s pop, late 70s post-punk, 80s and 90s noise rock, Melbourne four piece Witch Hats are the ideal antidote to a world that celebrates the vacuous pursuits of the celebrity classes, cheap corporate rhetoric and the disposable lifestyle. Think The Birthday Party jamming with Andrew Wk while Mark E. Smith and The Beatles look on knowingly, and you get some idea of the Witch Hats sound.
Alana Bruce is a 25 yr old Melbourne based musician, who has been involved in a variety of projects. Trained in both classical and contemporary music, Alana began her musical exploration at a young age, learning the piano as a child and the guitar as a teenager. Exposed to a wide range of musical styles, including Classical, Jazz, Rock, Samba and Bossanova at high school, she graduated in the top 10 in the state for VCE solo performance piano. Delving further into composition, Alana broadened her musical vocabulary through her exploration of a diverse range of sounds and styles.

In Hearts Wake emerged from Byron Bay, New South Wales in early 2006 as a 5-piece metal fellowship (all born in 1990). Over their teenage years IHW have played with the likes of Parkway Drive, Miss May I (USA), Emmure (USA), Blessed By A Broken Heart (CAN), For Today (USA), Oh Sleeper (USA), The Wonder Years (USA), The Amity Affliction, Confession and Deez Nuts to name a few.
In 2010 In Hearts Wake entered the studio with Dan Brown (Confession, 50 Lions), to record their latest CD release, a 6-track ‘Split’ effort with Sydney’s progressive metal outfit ‘The Bride.’ With 3 releases under their belt, and a debut full length in the midst, IHW opted to release a cover of Chris Brown’s club hit ‘Yeah 3X’. IHW’s aptly named ‘YEAH 4X’ features clean vocals from their newly acquired bass player ‘Kyle Erich’ and guest vocals from fellow BBHC front man ‘Oscar Mcall’ (50 Lions). Xavier Rudd (born 1978) is a soulful Australian surf/roots artist from Torquay, Victoria, which is near the famous surfing location, Bells Beach. Rudd's music is compassionate and always manages to render emotion in his fans. His songs include stories of the mistreatment of the indigenous people of his homeland; they tell of humanity, spirituality or the environment. The songs are written and sung with compassion and they urge the celebration of life.
