Hedgehog

There are at least two artists under this name. #1) An indie band from Beijing, China Hedgehog / <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/%E5%88%BA%E7%8C%AC" class="bbcode_artist">刺猬</a>, like many of the best bands in Beijing, was founded in the miracle years of 2004-2005, in January 2005, specifically. For some inexplicable reason they didn’t seem to make much of an impact early on, but we first met them when they played a series of concerts at D22 in late 2006, during which time they very quickly became one of the favorite bands.

New Estate

Forming in Melbourne in 2002 from the demise of the much-respected and criminally unheard Perth group Sleepy Township, band members Mia Schoen and Chris Gorman (AKA Chrissy G) continued their love affair with melodic noisy pop inthe guise of New Estate. Line Drawings

Line Drawings have just released their debut album take/over. Take/over was crafted in the summer of 2009/10 at various places in Sydney’s inner- west, and later polished at either side of the Pacific by Wayne Connolly (You Am I, Josh Pyke, Youth Group) and Bob Weston (Sebadoh, Archers Of Loaf). ‘Take/over’ calls to mind the places it was made. Its dissonant and dirty guitars recall the sounds of quintessential Australian indie rock while the easy complexity of the rhythm section would not be out of place in Chicago.

Charge Group

Sydney band Charge Group formed around 2005 and currently comprises three members of the now-defunct Newcastle outfit Purplene - vocalist/guitarist Matt Blackman (also of Tucker Bs), bassist Adam Jesson (The Instant), and drummer Matt Rossetti (The Instant). The fourth member is violinist/vocalist Jason Tampake (Firekites, Josh Pyke band), also originally from Newcastle.

Charge Group have been compared most often to The Dirty Three due to their strongly melodic, emotive, violin-inflected sound.

Cage The Elephant

Cage the Elephant are an alternative rock band which formed in 2005 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States.The band consists of Matt Shultz (vocals), Brad Shultz (guitar), Lincoln Paris (guitar), Daniel Tichenor (bass, vocals) and Jared Champion (drums). Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is a Brooklyn and Philadelphia based indie-rock band consisting of Alec Ounsworth, Lee Sargent, Robbie Guertin, Tyler Sargent, and Sean Greenhalgh. All the band members attended Connecticut College, in New London, Connecticut, United States Their debut album, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, recorded by Adam Lasus (Genius + Love = Yo La Tengo/The Dirt of Luck), was self-released in 2005, receiving attention from numerous MP3 blogs and a favorable review from Pitchfork Media, who gave the band a "Best New Music" commendation.

Cold War Kids are an indie rock band from Fullerton, California, USA. Hold Your Horse Is are a three piece from Surrey/Sussex/Hampshire who take a heavy influence from 90's American Indie and 00's British Post-Hardcore. Their unusual name is taken from the title of a seminal album by 2 piece Californian noise merchants Hella; whom they don't sound anything like.
