Nicolas Scaravilli was born to an Italian family in Brussels in 1974. It was clear from an early age he was heading straight for a life in music. Nico's formative years were spent learning to spin hip-hop and studying music theory & classic piano. After he was expelled from music college in 1991, he decided to set up his own home studio inspired mainly by the London breakbeat scene. At 19 he met Francis Shabard (DJ Murvin Jay) who introduced him to house music and together they secured DJ residencies at Club XXX, the first house club night in Brussels at the legendary Theatre of Vaudeville.
Auckland, New Zealand native Zoe Fleury (aka since 2010 Zowie’s) tender years belie a formidable fascination for pop in all its varying forms. Born into a musical family, she specialized in drums from age eleven, then studying a Diploma in Contemporary Music majoring in Drums in her hometown. Her passion for beats, along with her encyclopedic enthusiasm for all things pop has witnessed Zoe master vocals, guitar and programming along with her drumming skills.
Direct Influence is one of Australia’s premier reggae acts. Described as a mixture of the deep rooted reggae of the Wailers, the sounds of Che Fu and a little Damian Marley, Direct Influence create a fusion of Hip Hop and Roots Reggae whilst also encompassing the hearty soulful music carrying messages of peace and hope. San Cisco are from Fremantle in sunny Western Australia. On the weekends they love to go skateboarding, play Nintendo 64 and make a bit of indie pop on the side. Scarlett bangs the drums, Jennifer plays the electric bass, Jordi & Josh are the guys that play the guitars, write the songs and sing them.
San Cisco have spent the last year graduating high school, performing at some festivals and playing round town pretty much every weekend. They have also produced their first EP called Golden Revolver, which is set for release early 2011. Confident with stage presence & strong with vocals, San Cisco's upbeat summer pop continues to impress.
Jordi says: "San Cisco is a place situated between reality & a dream state. It is kind of like a huge cauldron we put all our creative input into, mix it together to make a super explosion of fantastic, wild creations. This is San Cisco."
