Artist Type:

Egon

There are at least four different artists with the name Egon. One of them is the band Egon from Malmö, Sweden. The band plays music that they describe as a mix between fulpop ("ugly pop") and dumsynth ("stupid synth"). Egon released their first album Den Nya Kulan in 2003. The second Egon is the general manager of Stones Throw Records. Beginning in 2000 he has overseen the business of the label as well as producing, among others, Stones Throw's The Funky 16 Corners, Stark Reality, and The Third Unheard reissues.

The Treatment

The Treatment were formed in 2008, when founder member drummer Dhani Mansworth was still at school in Cambridge . Although only 15 at the time he already had a clear vision of the kind of band he wanted to form. Having grown up on a diet of ACDC, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith he began to put the band together under the watchful eye of his father guitarist and manager Laurie Mansworth (More, Airrace, Roadstar).

Artist Type:

Denzal Park

Looking at their list of achievements, it's hard to believe that Kam Denny and Paul Zala have only worked together for just over a year!
The Australian duo met in a club, Kam approached by Paul with a CD of demos he'd been working on. Impressed, to say the least, Kam envisioned the idea of joining up in the studio: thus Denzal Park came to life! Their combined influences range broadly from early electronic pioneers such as Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and Jean Michelle Jarre through to rock icons like The Beatles, Radiohead and David Bowie.

Artist Type:

The Popes

The Popes were originally assembled by Shane MacGowan (The Pogues) after he either quit (his version) or was booted (the band's version) from the Pogues. Although they began life as Shane's backing band, Shane's somewhat "erratic" behavior gave them the incentive and the room to branch out on their own a bit. They have released two studio cds, "Holloway Boulevard" and "Outlaw Heaven" both on Snapper records, and a live set coupled with the studio set, also on Snapper Records.

RackNRuin

Destructive Techy Electro House type stuff.... As heard on the latest Orange Rock Corps advert.
DJ MAG REVIEW: RackNRuin - Skitzo/Audio Porn (Future Perfect)
A smash-and-grab from the mash-up scene here as RackNRuin makes slamming noisenik electro with a great revved-up b-line. No wonder Fake Blood and Sinden are all over this.
4 and a 1/2 out of 5!!
