Future of the Left

Future of the Left is an alternative rock band formed in 2005 in Cardiff, Wales. The initial line-up brought together former mclusky singer/guitarist Andrew Falkous (aka Falco) and drummer Jack Egglestone with former Jarcrew guitarist Kelson Mathias and bassist Hywel Evans. Evans soon left to start his own group, so Mathias took up the bass, and after initial gigs under a variety of tongue-in-cheek pseudonyms the remaining trio debuted as Future Of The Left in September 2006.

Swans

Swans is an influential band from New York City, New York, United States, active from 1982 to 1997, reformed in 2010, led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira. Marginally associated with the no wave scene at first, their original sound was slow and heavy, with live performances that were often so brutal and physical that in a number of instances certain audience members were made ill, police were called and venues were shut down. This early physical sound is possibly best heard on the live album Public Castration Is a Good Idea.

Millions

There are at least four bands using this name: 1) The experimental / drone project of David Suss, from NYC. 2) The Chicago noise rock band....
Millions guitarists Scott Flaster and Corey Lyons are quarreling musical twins whose differences set the tension on which Millions' sound is based. Flaster and Lyons' dueling guitars create a codependent relationship of angst and grandeur - the neurotic impatience of Black Flag scraping up against the anthemic melodies of King Crimson.

Menstruation Sisters

Menstruation Sisters (Lisa & Naomi Tocatly, Oren Ambarchi and Nick Kamiussis) are more of a natural phenomenon than a musical group. Owing more to the sound of ice melting and eggs hatching than strummed guitars and pounded drums, the Sisters keep one ear on the ground and the other towards the atmosphere. Rather than working within the lines of modern rhythm and structure, they revert towards a primal direction, cutting off the fat and oozing forth only the most natural and unfettered sounds.

HTRK

Originated in Melbourne, Australia, art rock project HTRK -- pronounced "Hate Rock" (also known before as Hate Rock Trio) -- began performing in 2003. After their former group disbanded, bassist Sean Stewart and guitarist Nigel Yang recruited vocalist Jonnine Standish with aims to create a project inspired by Lynchian imagery, using very slow mechanical repetition (courtesy of an 808 drum machine and Jonnine playing percussion), simple groove-laden basslines, and highly textured guitar noise.
