Musiq Soulchild (born Taalib Johnson on September 16, 1977 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), is an American, neo soul and R&B artist, and was one of the most popular artists on the Def Jam/Def Soul label. Since 2001, he has gone by simply “Musiq”, he dropped the “Soulchild” from his moniker, because he said he had not mastered his craft yet, and thus was not yet “music’s soulchild”. Kelis Rogers-Jones (born Kelis Rogers on August 21, 1979), is known simply by her first name Kelis (pronounced Kuh-lees). Her name is an amalgamation of her parents' first names, her black father Kenneth and Chinese-Puerto Rican mother Eveliss. Growing up in Middle Class Harlem, New York Kelis' childhood was not a deprived one. But she was not without problems, after her parents realised they could not cope with her unruly behaviour (Kelis shaved all her hair off at age 13, soon afterwards dyeing the regrowth the colors of the rainbow)...

Generation Gap(1995 -1996) was the old band of Alex Band(it was his second band) and Aaron Kamin(both from The Calling) when they began playing together. The band consisted of Alex Band(15), Aaron Kamin(19), a 58 year old drummer and a 40 year old bassguitarist. The huge difference in ages obviously was the reason for the bandname.
When Alex Band and Aaron Kamin got a record deal with RCA Records, the band split up. The Demo Cd consisted of 5 tracks;

Syl Johnson (b. July 1, 1936) is an American blues and soul singer and music producer. Born Sylvester Thompson in Holly Springs, Mississippi, Johnson sang and played with blues artists Magic Sam, Billy Boy Arnold, Junior Wells and Howlin' Wolf in the 1950s, before recording with Jimmy Reed for Vee-Jay in 1959. He made his solo debut that same year with Federal, a subsidiary of King Records of Cincinnati, backed by Freddie King on guitar.
