Nouvelle Vague

Three different groups have performed under the name Nouvelle Vague: Nouvelle Vague (France) is a project created by French musicians Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux and a number of female singers, including Camille, Alexandra Pavlou of Spring and Suburbia, Mélanie Pain, Marina Céleste & Phoebe Killdeer of Phoebe Killdeer and the Short Straws. The group's albums consist in bossa nova fashioned covers of (primarily) new wave songs (hence the name "Nouvelle Vague"). The covers include songs by Dead Kennedys, The Smiths, Joy Division, Public Image Ltd.

Etienne de Crécy

Etienne de Crécy (also known as Superdiscount, Minos Pour Main Basse, and Mooloodjee) is a French DJ and producer who composes House music. He was born in Lyon in 1969, and attended in the same college as Air and Alex Gopher, with whom he created the Solid label. Then, he worked in Paris as a sound engineer where he met Cassius, with whom he worked on the Motorbass album, a preview of what would be his second album: Super Discount, released in 1996, with Air, Alex Gopher and other French artists on Solid.

Féfé (also known as Fe² or Feniski, born Samuël Adebiyi) is a French rapper and singer of Nigerian origins born in 1976 at Noisy-le-Sec in France. A former member of rap groups OFX and Saïan Supa Crew, he released his first solo album, entitled Jeune à la retraite, October 12, 2009. Surkin (born Benoit Heitz) is a French DJ and producer and part-time graphic designer. Born in southern France but now residing and working in Paris, France. He dropped out of school to pursue a music career and never looked back. Heitz was a big fan of hip-hop music until 2003, when he began to dig deeper into club music history. He focused on US ghetto sub-genres like Miami Bass, Chicago ghetto-house or Baltimore club. Matt & Kim are an indie/power pop duo from Brooklyn, New York consisting of Matt Johnson (vocals, keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums, vocals). Formed in 2004 and currently signed to the Fader Label, they released their self-titled debut album in October 2006 and their second album, Grand, was released in January 2009. Mr. Oizo

Mr. Oizo (pronounced 'Monsieur Wah-zoh') is the nom de plume for French music producer Quentin Dupieux. Dupieux is most famous for his electro track "Flat Beat", which became a hit all across Europe in 1999 for being featured in a series of Levi's jeans TV advertisements. Dupieux also directed the ad, which featured a yellow puppet named Flat Eric nodding his head to the sound of the track while riding in a pickup truck. Flat Eric later appeared in the music video for "Flat Beat".

Four (or more) artists have gone by the name Cortex: a French jazz-funk group from the 70s, a Swedish punk band, a Spanish metalcore band and a experimental Belgian project by Alain Neffe. 1. A French jazz funk group from the seventies.
Key members were Alain Mion (Piano) and Alain Gandolfi (drums, percussion). Cortex recorded several albums and singles for the Sonodisc label. 2 albums got re-issued: 'Troupeau Bleu' (on 'Dare-Dare') and 'Volume 2' (on 'Follow Me'). 2. A Swedish punk or post-punk band from Gothenburg.
