Emperors

Emperors started out in 2009 as a studio project with Adam Livingston and Greg Sanders having the common goal of writing catchy, loud pop music without any trace of cynicism or pretension. The songs combine rich melodies, anthemic vocals and abrasive guitars with the influences being varied, but firmly entrenched in 90’s indie rock and 80’s punk.
So what began as an inebriated, weekly ritual in a North Perth apartment developed over the next year until it became a poorly rehearsed but passionate rock n roll machine.

Artist Type:

DMZ

There is more than one artist with this name: One is a 70's punk/garagerock band fronted by Jeff "Mono Man" Connolly, who would later go on to form Lyres. The other is a collaboration between dubstep producers Digital Mystikz and Loefah, and refers to a label, a club night and sometimes individual tracks.

Mirrors

There are at least five bands with the same name: 1) Mirrors were a Cleveland band that were active between 1973 and 1975. The band gushed forth fetid no-commercial-potential proto-punk and avant-psych with the same kind of dark pizzazz as their heroes the Velvet Underground mustered a decade or so earlier. Original members are Jamie Klimek (guitars, vocals) and Paul Marotta (bass, keys) plus drummer Paul Laurence. 2) Mirrors were a 1978 Japanese punk band that released two 7''s titled 'Shogeki X' (1978) & 'Out Of Order' (1979). The song is featured on a Japanese compilation named Crack!.

The Vignettes

vi·gnette /v?n--y?t/ [vin-yet] Since their inception in 2006, The Vignettes have been rising through the ranks of the Sydney live scene with their twisted take on garage rock and visually entertaining show impressing all in their wake. But with a sound that would give any larger band a run for their rock n roll dollars, two is all it takes for The Vignettes. Born out of a chance meeting between Joel and Katie at a New Years Eve party, The Vignettes experimented with a number of different line-ups before stripping it back to only two.

Straight Arrows

Formed in 2006, the Straight Arrows are a studiously authentic take on the glory days of 60s garage rock. From Sydney, Australia, they feature members of local acts such as the holy soul and The Red Riders. Doing their best to re-invent The Sonics, the Straight Arrows don't fail.
