DJ Peril

DJ Peril is a name synonymous with the Australian Hip Hop Scene. Peril has contributed to the Development of Australian Hip Hop through Break dancing, Graffiti & Hip Hop Music since its earliest days. From his first group The Island Boys right through to 1200 Techniques he has been at for front of pushing and developing Australian Hip Hop. DJ Peril has been the driving force behind Australia most recognised Hip Hop group 1200 Techniques but beyond the group Perils passion lies in his Production, DJ-ing & Graffiti.

Chasm

There are more than one artist named Chasm, one an Australian hip hop DJ, another a technical death metal group from Scotland, the third a Norwegian alternative rock band, the fourth is a pseudonym of Robert Hampson, who records as Main. . 1) Chasm the DJ is heavily influenced and inspired by soul, roots, reggae and jazz music; all of which is highly evident in the construction of his unique production that results in Chasm bringing a distinctive flavour to Australian hip hop.

Morganics

Morgan Lewis, better known in the hip-hop world as Morganics, is an MC, Beatboxer, Bboy producer. He is also involved in hip hop theatre and teaching beat-boxing and MC'ing to community centres, jails, schools, theatre companies and remote Aboriginal communities. Known for the hit 'Down River' by the Wilcannia Mob featuring three young Aboriginal boys rapping to a beat-boxing soundtrack, Morganics continues to encourage others to use their own words, terms and language as he does to try to make hip hop our own.

Brad Strut

Brad Strut is an MC from Melbourne, Australia. He made his name through radio appearances in the early 90s and appeared on early releases from Bias B, Trem and Boney Stoney (Bias B and Brothers Stoney). His debut album "The Authentic" was released in 2001, after which he went on to form the Lyrical Commission with Trem and Bob Balans. LC released their debut "The Stage is Set" in 2002 and followed it up with the "Murderous Metaphors" EP in 2004.

Hermitude

Now residing in Sydney, Luke Dubs and Elgusto grew up in the Blue Mountains where they took up musical instruments at a young age. They’ve played together with Elgusto’s sister Aja in a funk/jazz group called Funk Injection since their early teens.

Elgusto has DJ'd and played percussion with Paulmac and The Dissociatives... He’s also played with The Bird, Wes Carr, Explanetary, The Herd, Upshot and Paulmac. You can also check his DJing at various events and clubs.

Luke Dubs is a full-time musician working the keyboard craft in many acts including Explanetary, Vassy, Funk Injection and Guache. He graduated from the Australian Institute of Music with an Associate Diploma in contemporary Keyboard.

Players of multi-instruments, Hermitude combine drum programming, sampling and mixing with turntablism, keys, bass and percussion…with a little help from a few vocalists. Vocal tracks are few though, across their two albums.

Funkoars

The Funkoars are an Australian hip hop act from Adelaide, Australia and formed in 1999. Funkoars were founded on the unique personalities of four individuals. These larger than life musicians were drawn to each other not just from a love of music, but their light hearted and jovial outlook on life. It’s these personalities coupled with their prodigious talent that has brought Funkoars their success. The energetic and humorous nature of their lyrics is not something that can be emulated.

Ozi Batla

O.B. has been rapping for about 10 years in Sydney, and has now played across Australia. He was a mumbling presence alongside DJ A.L.F. at the legandary Joined at the Bass sessions at the Cricketer's Arms, until the Rum Corps (aka the NSW Police Force) and a yuppie shut down the live music one fateful Christmas eve. They could not, however, stop Alf and Ozi from forging a musical partnership that has taken them everywhere from dingy suburban pokie palaces, bush doofs, kiddiecore raves and the metro's stage.

Illy

Illy (born 1986) is an emcee from Melbourne, Victoria. With his solo repertoire forged in his two-volume mixtape (released in 2007 and 2008 respectively), Illy marches forward as the new voice in Generation Now hip hop. A writer, a lyrical activist, an observer, and a poet, he treks through the global jigsaw with firm optimism and understanding of its rollercoaster nature. Influenced by a kaleidoscope of artists from Nas to Bob Marley, Biggie to Bob Dylan...
