Chrome Kids

The Chrome Kids are currently squatting in the last remaining Hip-hop warehouses, as the rest are bulldozed to make way for new Department stores. Although the buildings themselves are sturdy and in many ways still majestic, the bricks are crumbling slightly, the grand murals on the walls have started to fade and the roofs have been neglected for some time and are in need of repair. It might not be the best place to live but we have a phat stack of speakers that constantly rumble out the dirtiest, digitally mutated basslines and beats this side of Saturn.

Modestep

Modestep is a 4-piece live band from North London. Their sound clearly takes influence from progressive electro and dubstep as one of their fans stated they like to make music which "makes your brains wobble with low pass filth", in reality not all Modestep's tunes aim to be as filthy as possible which is much the trend of the times, in what can possibly be seen as a post-dubstep progression; where bass-heavy music is never avoided however incorporated eclecticly with electronica. Modestep's live shows take place every sunday on their radio stream at http://modestep.

Artist Type:

Samiyam

Ann Arbor's latest prodigal son and lover of sprinkles on doughnuts, takes the legacy of all Detroit's talented musical sons and daughters and makes Hip Hop beats filled with snippets of Soul, Funk, 70's Italian horror flick soundtracks, Nintendo bonus level music, and 90's Hip Hop. Somehow, with this much content, the beats still manage to sound gloriously minimal and disjointed. Fans like Benji B, Andrew Meza and XLR8R have been eagerly snapping up his tracks, as Sam freeze frames Electro energy and spits it back out as twisted future Jazz.

Mount Kimbie

Dominic Maker and Kai Campos met at university and began making music together in a home studio in Peckham. Their EP, released on Hotflush Recordings, has already been well received, with support from pioneering DJs including Mary Anne Hobbs, Scuba, Rob Booth and Ramadanman
